I received this as a gift. But no instructions were in the box. I can't find any instructions on your website.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm very pleased with this insert. I have had it for about a month now and I'm totally loving it. The fit is great and there have been no signs of rust at all (I leave it in place for the season), which makes me ecstatic! In addition, the time to get to cooking temperatures is wonderful and keeping the cooking temperatures is really easy to maintain. The fact that I can close the top completely and get a good convection going is just another bonus. All around I would recommend this for anyone wanting to get a great griddle surface setup on their gas grill.
No need for a stand alone griddle. This griddle cooks steaks, fish, shrimp, potatoes, eggs, etc. perfectly. Seasoning the griddle was a snap. I used the Weber scraper for easy cleanup.
Great addition without needing another propane bot

Absolutely love it! The wife was up my "you know what" about getting a griddle and I told her I didn't want another propane powered cooking device on my deck (we have limited space at the boathouse); and I didnt want the maintenance as well. This insert fits like a glove! Edge to edge-front back and sides! Great addition! Had 15 people in for the weekend and all who cooked on it loved it!
The griddle has been a nice change for us over the grates. I purchased several things at the exact same time, as a "package" (like the cover for this griddle). It's interesting that each item was shipped separately by the same warehouse and all items arrived at a different time. Being in ecommerce myself, we try hard to ship items together to save the company shipping costs... weird. I'll update this as we continue to use the griddle over the next few hot summer months if anything else changes.
We like not having burnt food (which the grates would cause dried up burgers or whatever). The griddle does a lot better!
