The Genesis construction has definitely improved since we purchased our last one about 12 years ago. Absolutely loving this unit and how well made it is, as well as how thought out! Truly takes the grill to a new level! Only wish is that the knobs weren’t plastic, but oh well, it makes up for it in other areas, and the option to purchase a full griddle insert is tremendous!

Our grills are designed to be used with the lid closed. This allows the heat to circulate inside the grill and the vaporized drippings to infuse your food with smoky flavor. We always recommend keeping the lid closed except for brief periods to flip or check the food temperature.

Weber did a great job improving the design of the Genesis. I especially like the sear zone and and storage compartments. I am hoping the durability will match my 15+ year old genesis (that I still own). The one downside is that the side burner wing is a bit flimsy - I'm hesitant to put a full soup/chili pot on it.
