Genesis S-335 Gas Grill

The Things I like about the Weber Genesis. The burners always ignite with ease, the temp across the cooking surface is fairly even and the grill get plenty hot for searing steaks.
Now for the things I don't like about the grill. I purchased the stainless steel Genesis grill. The stainless steel is not 304 but most likely 340 which is a cheaper stainless steel. When I think of Weber I think of quality materials and this grill was on the pricey side and I don't think the quality of materials warrants the price. One other down side is the gap between the head unit and shelves. It is about an inch and will allow any rain to get inside the cabinet. On the left side of the cabinet is all the electronics for the ignition and when it rains and you didn't cover the grill, they will get completely wet because of the gap. I didn't have these issues with my prior grill which was not a Weber. It had higher quality stainless steel, and the inside of the cabinet wasn't exposed to the elements. I purchased the Weber because of the name and what it meant as far as quality. Disappointed that Weber has sacrificed quality of the components and design but as far as the basic functions are there and work great. I just don't know if the grill is worth the price.

Weber is chopping value from their Genesis line
on April 8, 2025
Posted by: WeberFailedUs
I have been eyeing the Genesis S-335 for a couple of years now. Watched ton of reviews and was excited about some of the features and value they included. Well anyone that is looking to buy this grill after 2024 please note the following omitted features:
1. No longer has the fold out warming rack. It is now just a smaller single wide.
2. No propane gas hanger gauge.
3. Smaller right side table.
4. No more shelving within the base cabinet. Just a wide open cavity.
5. The heat shield on the lid of the grill has been shrunk.

The grill seems okay, but was missing 2 parts. a shelf inside the grill and a shelf under by the tank. Though all documentation showed the parts, Weber customer service would not send the parts. When I suggested a return they still refused. They spent more time refusing than the parts could have possibly cost 3 times over! I talked to my local Ace HW guy and in 5 minutes I had the shelves! Weber gets a zero for quality control and customer service.

Rust spots on stainless exterior after 1 use!
on July 13, 2024

I have purchased at least 10 Weber gas grills in the past. The S-335 was purchased for our vacation home in MA that we occasionally will rent.
Unfortunately, this new grill started to have rust spots and pitting immediately. I noticed them after 1 use. Evidently the stainless steel exterior is not very durable and requires significant ongoing maintenance to keep the rust at bay. I just spent 30 minutes polishing the exterior with metal polish.
I expected to own this grill for years and encounter minimal maintenance. Now I know that I will need to polish the grill nearly every time I use it. And I am now concerned that my renters will complain about the appearance and quality of my new grill. I am beyond disappointed.
I shared my feedback with the hardware store where i bought it and he mentioned that Weber reduced the nickel component on the exterior and that leads to more rust spots.
As a long time, repeat Weber customer, I can say this will be my last Weber Grill.

Extremely Disappointed

Extremely disappointed with my Weber grill and equally disappointed with customer service. The plastic protective layer on the grill was essentially melted on the cover of my grill and the ignition button does not work. I spent $1300 on a grill and immediately had issues. To top it off their customer service team has been zero help. I have reached out multiple times and Weber has done nothing to assist with my issues. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

It doesn't get hot. Only to 250. Paid for setup and he left before it was lit.
Response from weber.comBy Consumer CareWeberMarch 6, 2024
Thank you for letting us know about the heat issue you are having. We apologize for the frustration, and we are here to help.

Natural gas grills require a specific gas connection to ensure proper gas pressure. If the grill is not getting hot enough, the connection is probably not set up to specification. Your owner's guide has more information about this assembly.

Our Care team is following up via email to help with your grill's gas connection. Please look for our outreach soon! Thank you.

Of course the winter months currently (1/3/2025) in NH and grilling is not on the top of our list of things to do, but we've managed to use the grill twice. It preheats very quickly. The two times we've used it it cooked everything evenly. I haven't used it enough to really give an accurate review. If it's possible, I'll update this review at a later time.
