2nd Weber after 28 years with the first

Heats up very quickly compared to my old grill, the burners are arranged different so much easier to direct the heat to one side or cook indirectly. I like the enclosed bottom, hides the gas bottle and provides a little storage. The grease trap seems improved, time will tell how it performs. Still learning how it cooks, going to use it tonight, ask me next year again

Time for a new grill

Like the grill a lot. Don’t like that I have to hang the propane tank. There isn’t a gauge reader. Expensive enough- make the bottom sturdier so the tank can sit on it!

First few uses lackluster

My first 2 times I could not get temp over 240F, even w all burners on fully up. Then changed tank and still same. Used it a 4th tome last nt, and seemed to be better, but still not achieving temps I would expect. Likely will have to reach out to Weber.

We appreciate your feedback, and we apologize for the frustration. Your grill should easily reach 500°F.

If your grill is not reaching the desired temperature, there are a few things to check. Let's start with the easy stuff:

1. Please make sure you consider "High" on your control knobs to be the first spot to your left (the 9:00 position). The further you go to the right, the lower the temperature will be, and all the way to the right is low.

2. Please make sure you're always cooking with the lid down except when flipping the food halfway. The second you open the lid the heat escapes, and you'll need to close it to let the temperature recover.

3. It sounds like your grill may be in a safety mode known as “bypass." What’s happening is that the regulator thinks there’s a gas leak, so it reduces the pressure.

Perform a soapy water leak test to check for leaks. If there is no leak, follow these instructions to reset the bypass safety mode. This is not only the reset, but how you want to light your grill each and every time.

Open the lid
Make sure all knobs are in the off position
Turn your LP tank on all the way
Wait 60 seconds - This is the MOST important part.
Turn light the first burner and leave it on high
Turn on remaining burners one at a time and set each to high
Close the lid
Let your grill preheat to 450°F-500°F

Never owned a Weber until now! What was I waiting for? Control over the temperature and flame is much easier than any other grill I’ve ever had. Much happier with the results from my new Weber!

Many improvements over my Old Weber

My new Weber is solidly built. It's taller than my old Weber, which I had for 20 years, which I liked. It has burners that heat fast and even. I can throw a quick burger on it. I like the hinged storage doors. The caster wheels are larger so they roll over decking easier.

Weber Genesis buyer for life!

My last Weber Genesis lasted me over 15 years and I hope this one can beat that record. The new grill cooks amazingly even across all burners. There is no cutting corners on the quality of this grill. The price is quite high (roughly double what I paid for the last one...) but the quality shows and the warranty is the best in the business. I had replacement parts mailed to me when the old grill needed them and all were covered by the warranty after sending a picture of the faulty parts to Weber.

We started with a Weber Kettle many years ago and have since purchased a number of a number of gas grills including the Genesis. It's great and has gotten even better with time. Have never been disappointed and would never consider another brand.

A really nice grill. Have used it quite a few times already. Added a gauge on the gas tank line to show how much gas remains in the propane tank. A really nice addition when we were cooking our Thanksgiving turkey.
