Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Kitchen Aid and I am disappointed this time. The ice and water feature in the freezer door are very noisy. They were very quiet on the last model. The entire family complains about it. It is a loud growling sound. Not very pleasant to use.

Never been more frustrated with a refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On one hand, I love this unit, On the other hand, I am so frustrated with it and Kitchenaid. I have already had warranty service because the ice maker takes soooo long to make ice AND freezes all the vegetables in the crisper. I have learned just to wait the 3 days to fill the ice maker. I have searched manuals and the web to find out why the unit is freezing my fresh vegetables. I find nothing. I cannot find out what the indicators on the door panel are for. It seems the indicator lights should do something with the crispers/deli but I cannot find any information any place. I am finding no help on the Kitchenaid website or elsewhere.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Noisy for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 15-year-old Thermador abruptly died, after extensive repairs three years ago, and we elected to buy this appliance as a replacement unit. Temperatures, etc. work well However, for 11 grand, I would've expected a much quieter unit. I could never tell when the Thermidor was operating however, this unit is extremely noisy, comparatively. I think the interior of the freezer and refrigerator sections is better laid out than the old unit, giving More functional room. Icemaker is essentially the same unit as is in the Thermador. I think one company makes most of them. Time will tell regarding durability.

Tons of Issues

I bought this fridge about a year ago because it was beautiful and for the past 4 months it has stopped working multiple times for 3 days at a time. It typically stops working Thursday and by Monday it is working again and everytime we have called the service, they have been unable to diagnose the problem since the fridge has started up again. The fridge completely stops cooling which has caused us to get rid of a ton of freshly bought produce and the ice has completely melted and will only dispense water. It has been a very frustrating experience as the user interface has been replaced as well as the ice box and it is still not properly functioning. As of yesterday the fridge stopped working again and we scheduled another appointment but do not believe it will be fruitful if the fridge decides to start working again. With the amount of money we have spent on this fridge, we expect it to function at least half as well as our old one.

Great Refrigerator

Love that I can put the jars of jam and jelly is the door so that you can see what you are looking for! Just watch the ice maker sometimes the flap dose not close when you get ice out. Then the ice freezes up in the door and you cannot get ice out. Plus everything get ice all over what is in the freezer!

10 months old and Ice and Water Dispenser and display dead. For the cost of this refrigerator you would expect better build quality. Drawers don't properly align and often fall off the guids. Have had service techs here 4 times now and have determined now I need a new freezer door, internal wire fault. Fingers crossed this is what's wrong and there won't be additional damage when they are replacing the door. I'm not optimistic.
