I installed my first built-in in 2008! Broke down last week and figured I had 18 good years so would just replace it! Always happy with KitchenAid appliances!

Great refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m very happy with this refrigerator. It’s roomy and I like the side by side style. The shelves are well spaced and the door shelves really hold a lot. I’m not sure I need the marinating pan and don’t like the runners for it that are hanging from a shelf. The freezer is a good size and well planned out. The finish stays fingerprint free and is easy to clean and keep looking nice. It looks modern and clean in my kitchen. My only complaint is the water filter on the kick plate of the fridge and I have to lay on the ground to change it. The fridge is quiet and temps stay consistant.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 24-year-old KitchenAid served me well but the week before Christmas a replacement became necessary. The latest version of the 48" built in was unavailable until Feb 26, but I was fortunate to locate this one as a close out. It's an improvement over my previous model but it is somewhat noisy in comparison. You don't notice the noise until late when the house is quiet. Also, I hope it's not true but multiple appliance retailers advised that I should not expect to get 20 years out of this product any longer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator/freezer hold a lot of stuff! I like the ample door storage. The slide out tray is really helpful for getting to items in the back. The drawers are well thought out.

We have purchased this fridge for multiple new build homes and love it. Looks great and works great for a fraction of the cost of Sub Zero.

overprized, but ok compared to competition

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There aren’t many options available in these specific dimensions, and models in this size category are extremely expensive. While I do appreciate the clean, flush look it creates in the kitchen, I question the long-term value of designing cabinetry around a niche appliance category that carries such a premium. The refrigerator itself works well. The fridge side is deeper than some competitors, which is a real plus — you can actually fit a pizza box inside. The freezer side, however, feels somewhat tight on space. There are a few design annoyances. The water line tends to slip out from underneath the fridge (possibly installation-related, but still inconvenient). One KitchenAid-brand water filter we tried caused a noticeable humming noise. The water/ice dispenser paddle is also not ideal — the lever is long with a very small pressure point, so you have to press near the top to activate it. If you don’t hit the right spot or angle, either nothing comes out or it splashes. On the positive side, the middle drawer with the wood front is a beautiful detail and adds an elegant touch to the interior. We use it for eggs and cheese, and it’s one of the features we genuinely enjoy. Overall, it performs well and looks great in the space, but the price premium for this appliance category makes the value proposition harder to justify.
