Turntable Spinner a pretty good success

I am quite impressed by the Spinner, the quality of the deck is a lot better than I expected. The bluetooth sounds truly far better than I expected of a turntable as I was most weary of the transfer from the needle to the speaker, but the quality and the amplification of the music is spot on and also somehow louder than running through my analog speakers. One of the reasons I wanted to get a bluetooth turntable was because of a company like JBL specifically thinking of bluetooth connectivity and sound while considering the rest of the turntable and what the needle will pick up to the speaker. It really does seem like a lot of consideration was done in this area. One thing I found funny with the bluetooth is that it continues to play through the analog port while connected to bluetooth and the delay between these two outputs is not so significant. Enough for me to hear but pretty close in timing. I also was worried about the quality of the needle provided cause I am used to using my Ortfon Red at this point but I have been impressed with how nice it sounds, I did order another cartridge that has more capabilities to upgrade. I think that is potentially the biggest miss, where the more expensive version of the JBL table comes with an Ortfon stylus this one comes with a Audio Technica stylus that doesn't have a lot of upgrade options. I think if you were considering those things the AT-VMN would've been a better choice for a path forward.
One of the biggest frustrations I had with this turntable was something many people probably wouldn't be worried about when getting it but I wanted a deck that was more automatic. The description of the features for this turntable are a little confusing and it says there is Auto Start / Stop. My assumption here was that it also included an Auto Return feature, for the tonearm to be put back in place after the record ended. That is not the case, the feature is for when the stylus is above the record the turntable starts spinning, then when it reaches the end of the record it stops. However, it doesn't stop so immediately, I have noticed it can be around 10+ clicks of the end of the record. For some that might be a major annoyance and I am not a big fan of it but I prefer it to nothing. I have never used a turntable with this kind of a feature so it was a bit of an adjustment for me and initially I wasn't even sure it was going to stop cause it took so long (or really what felt long at the time). But as I have continued to spin records on it I have found it not to be as much of a problem and I really do love this turntable in so many ways.
The final thing I'll say is one of the best things that has come from this new turntable for our household is I have been able to connect it to our JBL Extreme speaker and take my vinyl to the kitchen while I'm cleaning or cooking or to the porch while I'm relaxing. It is really a pretty wonderful and feature packed turntable for the money. I'm hoping my experience continues as such but for now I have only had it for about a week but it's been great and the family is having alot of fun with it.
To note I also have a Denon DP-300F and Uturn Orbit in the house, both with Ortfon Red stylus' and I love them as well but they don't have the features the Spinner does.

Break Out the Vinyl!

I purchased the JBL Spinner BT turntable as a part of the Music Lover Pro Bundle with the Authentics 300 speaker. Reviewing it alone, the Spinner is an impressive blend of modern technology and vintage appeal, offering a unique listening experience for those who want to enjoy the warmth of vinyl with the convenience of Bluetooth.
The unit feels solid and sturdy with a sleek, minimalist design. It strikes a nice balance between retro charm and modern functionality. The platter is driven by a classic belt-drive configuration, and the cartridge is supplied by Audio-Technica, the moving-magnet AT3600L.
Bluetooth functionality allows you to easily connect to wireless speakers or headphones, providing flexibility for modern listening setups. It pairs effortlessly with Bluetooth speakers or headphones, allowing you to enjoy vinyl without the need for wired connections. The Bluetooth range is solid, and the connection is stable, so you won't experience dropouts during listening sessions. The turntable supports aptX HD, but you will need a speaker that supports it (unfortunately the Authentics 300 does not).
Beyond Bluetooth, the Spinner BT offers traditional RCA outputs to connect to an external amp or speakers. These outputs offer the phono level direct from the cartridge, ready to plug into a phono stage or an amplifier’s phono input or, if you can flick the preamp switch on the rear, you get a line-level output suitable to feed into any standard amplifier input, or direct into active speakers.
The Spinner BT delivers a rich sound typical of vinyl. The audio quality is crisp - upper mids and highs were a little pronounced - with decent bass depth. While I wouldn’t compare it to the absolute fidelity of higher-end audiophile turntables, the sound is perfect for me and, I suspect, most listeners. I tried it with Bluetooth as well as through the internal phono preamp. There was a noticeable difference, of course it was expected, meaning JBL did a nice job pairing the electronics with the cartridge.
The JBL Spinner BT Turntable is the perfect unit for anyone who wants to break out their old records without putting them on some suitcase player bought online. It strikes a great balance between classic turntable design and modern tech, offering convenience and good sound quality. While audiophiles might seek more refined options, the Spinner BT is perfect for casual listeners and those who want a reliable, Bluetooth-enabled turntable at an accessible price point. Whether you're a vinyl newcomer or a casual collector, this turntable will likely meet most of your needs. I’m thrilled with it!
