Dear Sadi,
Thank you for your comment.
We certainly understand the inconvenience this may have caused if you are unable to get video out connecting an external monitor. To connect a monitor successfully, you need to use a HDMI cable and go to Display Properties and select the external monitor as a primary, duplicate or extended display. If using a docking station, please verify if it meets system requirements For tutorials on how to connect an external monitor, please go to: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-add-and-use-a-second-monitor-in-windows-11/527d487a-f124-4254-892d-177b08d90e1e. If you need more information or further assistance with the warranty for the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. I'm replacing a different manufacturer"s laptop that became unbearably slow after updating Win 10. My specs were Intel i9 processor. SS 1TB hard drive, and not manufactured by my old laptop manufacturer. Connectivity is also important to me and this laptop includes a type C port in addition to three other USB ports. And I wanted it to run MS11; my old one would not upgrade to MS11. I usually run Linux Fedora 38 on my main computer and wanted a dedicated MS11 computer even though I could run both operating systems on the same computer. I'm over 80 so the 17 inch screen vs the 14 in screen of my old laptop will help me visually. Asus was recommended to me as a brand; I chose the computer from this brand. If you order from the store be prepared to wait a week of working days for it to show up; FedEx ground is slower than molasses in January or Owl manure in February; familiar with both on a personal basis. It's probably a little premature to write an operational review as I barely got the computer out of the box; haven't even started it after charging the battery for the requisite 3 hrs before turning it on. And I intend to use it and adobe photo shop to scan pictures for genealogical purposes along with Libre office as my office suite; remember I'm a Linux person. I got turned off to microsoft about 7 years ago but my very favorite model railroad CAD program only runs on a Windows box; darn it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great laptop exceeds all expectations. Super fast. Down side poor battery life. As a teacher, I can’t go a full school day without having to charge mid day.

Dear Andrew n Dallas,
Indeed, a great laptop that exceeds your expectations.
We certainly understand your concern regarding the short battery charge life. This laptop has a battery life of approximately 7 hours of light to medium workload. To improve or prolong the battery charge time, please try to do battery calibration manually. To start, please drain it completely then charge it fully without using the system. Once fully charged, please use the laptop, without the AC adapter connected, and drain let the battery drain completely again. Please repeat the charging process thereafter. Also, please verify if the unit is running with the most current system update and third-party battery draining applications are not running in the background if not in used.
If you need further assistance, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than glad to help. Or you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent from the link: https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/1135/.

I use my Vivobook 17X a lot for video conference meetings. I host a national meeting with Veterans. The video and audio are superb for a laptop. Some in my first conference meeting noticed and commented on the better video and audio they were seeing and hearing on their end.
In addition, the Vivobook is fast, runs cool (never hear the fan), it is light but very sturdy, the audio and video settings options are great, and it has all the ports I need. Though it would be nice if ASUS added a second USB-C port by replacing one of the three USB-A ports and make the port a USB-C Thunderbolt port.
