Fast speeds, take everywhere

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plug and play out of the box, but the app you can download is easy to use and perfect for protecting with a password. I was able to move holiday pictures in an instant, and take to the printers to print them out. Looks nice, easy to carry and take everywhere. The USB-C connects seamlessly to my computer and laptop.

The size of the unit is nice to be able to take with you when needed. I like the coating on the outside to make it durable and slip-resistant. Plug and play ssd that just works.

Lately I’ve been transferring footage over from my GoPro to the #t5evo because it can handle large file transfers. this is great for content creators or gamers that need some extra storage capacity. I received the 2TB but you can buy 4TB and 8TB. I love that transferring my photos takes less than 30seconds and did I mention it’s drop resistant up to 6 feet! It’s created with shock resistant rubber design. And weighs just over 100grams.

High capacity using the latest tech

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had to migrate the data from an old computer onto a new one. Using the Samsung T5 EVO USB drive made the process so much more enjoyable. Luckily the new computer has USB 3 and its own internal SSD. The transfer of files is fast and silent, no more clunky CDROM drives needed to install the OS, and no more noisy spinning hard drives.
Copying the old files over is quick too, and since this portable SSD drive has a ton of capacity I can just leave everything on there as a backup too, and still have plenty of room.
The new computer was up and running in record time, it felt very high-tech doing all of this so quickly and silently.

This drive also has protective rubberized coating that feels good in the hands, and the status LED is actually useful, showing different colors and blinking to show when it's safe to unplug. I tried out the included software, it was fine for what it does, includes the basic necessities. Overall I really like this drive, I love that I can have so much storage space and just keep it in my pocket.

Not Seamless with Macs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the box and packaging look stylish and modern. I like the blue ombré type color effect. What I didn’t like was when I first saw the device in the box it was covered in white fibers from the box contents. Trying to get them off for a clean photo, didn’t work. The rubberized exterior is nice for shock absorption if it’s dropped but it’s a lint magnet as well.
For me, the set up and usage of the T5 EVO 2TB Portable SDD wasn’t issue free. The box says it’s compatible with MacOS, Windows, and Android which was nice. There were some hiccups, a restart I had to do, and some permissions I had to allow in my Security System Settings. It also gave a few dialogue and error messages in the process. Seeing as the setup folder had Win and Android text files, it seems this is better suited for Windows and Android devices. When I finally had the setup all done I started a backup of my computer. It struggled majorly to calculate the remaining time. It took about 5 minutes to get any kind of calculated time. Finally it said 24 minutes. For me, this seems slower than other devices I’ve had. Overall, it seems to be quality in terms of the look and manufacturing. But, it’s yet to be determined if it’s durable and lasting.

Great Portability with Greater Speed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow is this little SSD easy to carry around! At just 4" by 2", it goes anywhere you want it to and fits in any personal accessory that you might have. It also weights about the same as 2 eggs, which is almost nothing (100 grams).
The SSD design is also almost 4x faster than your normal HDD when it comes to data transfer and writing. The "up to" 460 MB/s is insanely fast if you are an average file user. It might actually take you longer to find the SDD in your drawer than it would to copy the info from location to location.
Also, it is tough - both in design and security. This thing is drop resistant up to 6 feet while having military-grade security with its 256 AES Hardware Encryption. This is a mighty little device that can be easily used for work, personal or other reasons.
