Got it on Wednesday. Spent two days copying my data to it. It's now Saturday morning and it's dead. Very annoying.

I just had it yesterday. I am surprised that you cannot open the drive if the password is enabled from other PCs without installing the drive software.
It is not like other portable drives with pop-up messages asking for a password to unlock the drive. using the drive this way will be limited and not helpful.
I do not recommend buying it, and I regret purchasing it, as it was not previously announced that its use was limited by installing the software. I am not going to trust such a product in the future.

You can disable the Password Protection feature on the Settings screen of the Samsung Portable SSD software as follows:
Click the “Set” button on the Main screen, switch the “Lock” button from ON to OFF, enter a password, and save it.

Slow Write speeds

Greetings.
I have problems with write speed on this drive... The read speed is fine with transferspeed between 400-460MB/s. But when writing to the drive its only between 30-50MB/s. Ma old WD elements mechanical drive is faster than this SSD.
When doing a benchmark test in Samsung Magician it says 438MB/s S read & 440MB/s S Write.

A Disappointment

I purchased this product August 2024. I started off being a satisfied customer. I used my SSD to store my music because I'm a professional DJ. I only used 6.3TBs and it has slowed down Serato DJ Pro on both my Macbooks causing delays with music loading.and performances. I'm not happy with this product
