I’ve used it for everything from backing up photos to moving big video files, and it hasn’t let me down once. It works right out of the box with all my devices, no fuss. Honestly, it’s one of those rare tech purchases that just quietly does exactly what you need.

I just had it yesterday. I am surprised that you cannot open the drive if the password is enabled from other PCs without installing the drive software.
It is not like other portable drives with pop-up messages asking for a password to unlock the drive. using the drive this way will be limited and not helpful.
I do not recommend buying it, and I regret purchasing it, as it was not previously announced that its use was limited by installing the software. I am not going to trust such a product in the future.

Click the “Set” button on the Main screen, switch the “Lock” button from ON to OFF, enter a password, and save it.
