Fast, easy, and fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I am an amateur sewer and mostly sew by hand to mend shirts, pants, etc. It has been many years since I used a sewing machine. However I followed the instructions and everything worked perfectly. I think this machine would be perfect for a beginner but good enough for experienced sewers as well. I love all the different stitch options! They are very cool and highly adjustable-- there are dozens of different patterns and you can change the width and tightness of the stitch too. It really adds a professional flair. When I previously mended clothes by hand, the stitch would come loose after repeated wear and wash, but I don't expect that to happen with this machine... The stitches are so much better and faster than I could do myself. All in all I would highly recommend the machine. I have used it for about a month now and have taken care of a bunch of projects that I had been putting off... It makes sewing fun :)

This is my first sewing machine. The instruction manual is really helpful and I'm slowly getting better! I would recomend it for beginners, especially because of the needle-threader and quick-set bobbin.

always wanted to learn to sew

I just wanted to learn to sew so I could hem the sleeves of my cheap sweatshirt that I "Belichicked"because I hate long sleeves. Well this little machine did the trick. it was easy to set up, thread and sew. Let's be honest, I'm not making my own shirts here. but for making something look good, the 3701 gets the job done

I’ve only had machine for short time but so far I’m pretty pleased with it. It took a little getting used to it as many things were different from my older singer! For the good part not bad.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great machine for beginners. It takes a minute to learn how to thread the machine but the instructions will get you there until it’s second nature. I like all the stitch selections, there’s lots of fun choices. Used a decorative stitch (#27) to finish off a set of pot holders and it turned out nice. This is best used for light projects, not a lot of power to get through really thick materials. Overall, it will suit the needs of many quick sewing jobs!

I had a Riccar machine for over 40 years, ended up not able to get parts, tried a Brother sewing machine, and have not regretted it since! Does the job and then some!

Simplicity and CLASS!

I was both excited and intimidated to start sewing at 40 but it’s something I really have been wanting to do and learn for some DIY home decor! Upon pulling out the product there’s instructions and a bag of “parts” and I just let it sit for a week thinking ILL NEVER FIGURE THIS OUT! I’ve yet to read the instructions BUT THANK GOD FOR THERE INSTRUCTIONAL DVD! I followed along STEP BY STEP with the DVD and I could not believe how simple it was (again with the help of the DVD)! The instructions ALONG with the visual of what to do mad with fool proof FOR SURE! I had to purchase so thread and fabric (which is super cheap so if your learning and waste some you won’t feel guilty) and began practicing. After I felt a bit confident with the settings I made some basic curtains for my balcony for privacy. Now they are by no means perfect and I have to practice with straight lines, get some pins and search more on some good ideas, BUT THIS MACHINE is REALLY REALLY good! Between the manual, DVD and images on the machine it’s perfect for a beginner or a pro! There’s really nothing they missed on making this, it threads the needle for you so if you have a shaky hand, no worries! The built in light by the needle makes your work pretty precise and the stitch guide shows you exactly what you need for your preferences. I’m very excited to make curtains, accent blankets for my bed, throw pillows for the living room and so much more! If you’ve waited because your not confident and seeing seems like more work than fun GRAB THIS! I promise you’ll be using old shirts to create things because you want to sew “so” bad!
