Product easy to install. Set up was simple. Clarity is top notch. Over all very very happy with system. One minor issue, they go off non stop at first. This took a fair amount of time getting the settings right. Only other thing I would ask for is a way to shut them down for the work day easy. Meaning unlock, open app, disarm. at night the reverse
I bought this roughly a month ago and so afar I have been very happy with the system. It has been easy to set up and get the cameras working. I do not have them all up yet but am working through them as I get the power run for each one.
The first NVR that I received with my WNIP2 system would not get to the startup page and had to return it. The warranty replacement NVR made it to the Startup Wizard and was now able to complete the NVR and camera setup. At first the mouse was working but the menu on the monitor didn't seem to be working. I did a factory reset to see if the menu would start working but the mouse stopped working. I then used a different mouse and it worked and the menu worked. After I plugged the Night Owl mouse into the my computer, it seemed to reset and was able to now work with the Night Owl System. I still have one problem, when I go to the computer Protect CMS App I get this:
Says the NVR is OFFLINE, when it seems to be working monitor and the phone. I’ve tried all of this but nothing works! NOTE: If you are experiencing this status, please perform the following steps: 1. Plug an Ethernet cable from your router (network) to your Night Owl recorder. 2. Wait until a system prompt appears stating “Internet Detected.” 3. Click “Login.” 4. Enter your local admin password. 5. Click “Login” again. 6. On the Night Owl Protect App icon page, click “I already have an account.” 7. Enter your Night Owl Protect login credentials. 8. Logout of the Night Owl Protect CMS and log back in. 9. Your Night Owl device should now be showing an Online status.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased 2 extra wireless cameras to make a total of 5. Should be great, says 10 channel, right? It will only work 4 cameras. I'm sure it probably says that somewhere in the fine print, but why call it 10 channel if it will only do 4? Then, had a camera eating through battery life, even with 4 batteries in it (I had 2 extra from the extra camera that I ordered that it can't use, remember?). Ok, no big deal, swapped to the camera that I wasn't using, hopefully it is better. I like the system and the cameras, but why not just be open about what it is?
I was so excited when I read that I could pair my cameras up via bluetooth, without having to connect the system to a monitor! Then I had a problem with one camera showing my green plants as pink. #1 The instructions and website are not helpful and I finally had to use Chat. (My chat tech was great!) #2 It seems that the PC based system for my user dashboard is NOT functioning. #3 So, Unfortunately, I now have to drag a monitor to the room with the Wifi base, delete this camera from the system with access VIA A MONITOR, and then pair and add it again. Very disappointing and primitive for what was paid.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The camera construction is seems cheaper & more fragile than my old cameras that I purchased from another company. One of the cameras drained the batteries from 100% down to 52% in less than 3 hours (BEFORE I mounted the camera). The mobile app won't let me add the cameras. The NVR won't let me adjust the recording settings.
I have old 2016 and 2019 wired Night Owl systems. The settings in the DVR are amazing when looking via a monitor. I can play, fast forward (16X), fast back (16x) , skip forward, and skip back. These new systems, there is only play and fast forward (8x). NO skip ahead. On my old system, when I have it on 16x, I can also manually jump head with a mouse to any point in the timeline and it stays on 16x. This one, the no skip ahead is annoying but when I have it on 8x and manually try to jump ahead with the mouse, it turns off the 8x so if your looking for something, your continuously having to click the fast button over and over and over....cameras are a step up from my 720p cameras but the NVR is back in the 90s. If you didn't know the old system, you wouldn't know what your missing with the new system. I think I'll buy new wired cameras and use the old DVRs.
