I installed a Night Owl 8 camera system just over a year ago in my "Doghouse". That's my air conditioned shop where we play music weekly ( and yes sometimes weakly). Only 4 cameras worked all the time. After ordering 2 more antennas (one for base unit and one for camera) all 8 function well. My doghouse is a 40'x50' metal building so wireless range is reduced. 3 cameras that would seldom work (mounted outside) now work with antenna inside hooked to outside cameras. 2 others that would work sporadically, now work consistently, since base unit has one antenna outside Doghouse.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My cameras are about 75' from the base. My house is stucco. The signal was very weak at best. I first mounted the antenna to the base unit, which did not improve anything. I then hooked it up to a camera and now that camera has an excellent signal strength. If your having signal issues on the camera end this is a must have.

My wireless camera was mounted in spot were it was being hard to get good contact to the security system but the extender has a longer cable and I'm able to move it to where it needs to be for my camera to get all the bars and not lose signal. Very pleased to have this option
