A good buy

Very pleased with this purchase which was a replacement for my old HP printer which had served me well for several years before losing its wi-fi capability.
The ENVY 6432e has, so far, exceeded my expectations. Setting up was very simple and it worked straight out of the box, following some simple instructions to get it on line.
Print quality is very good with sharp clear images on both text and photos. I particularly like the automatic two side printing feature which is saving a lot of paper (my old printer required manual turning with separate printed page explaining how to turn the page! This was too cumbersome to bother using)
The printer came with 9 months free instant ink which is a real bonus. This required signing up to the instant ink subscription starting after the 9 month free period but I was happy with this as the subscription service is both convenient and should work out cheaper. The subscription cartridges are much bigger and longer lasting.
All in all, This appears to be a very good printer and I would recommend it for home use.

The HP Envy Pro 6420e has a sleek and eye-catching design that doesn't take up much space especially height-wise (it's approximately 432 x 512 x 194mm). It was somewhat fiddly to set up and I ended up using a USB cable (you'll need a USB 'A' to USB 'B' cable) rather than the recommended WiFi initial set-up. I needed to update the firmware to get everything working, scanning as well as printing. The automatic document feeder holds 35 sheets of paper and works well. The quality of scanning is very good and works well with external software. The print quality is excellent, duplex printing faultless. The paper tray holds up to 100 sheets. Changing print cartridges is straightforward and if you sign up to HP Instant Ink you get 7 months free to start with, with an immediate delivery of ink, but read the conditions carefully before signing up. After signing up with HP Instant Ink the first supply arrived within a couple of weeks and as we use a reasonable amount of ink every month we’ve been satisfied with it and know we made the right decision. When the initial months have ended we’ll continue to have the ink delivered. There is no LCD control panel, everything is indicated with several backlit controls, and information on status can be printed out. Much of the control of the printer can be carried out through the HP Smart App, including setup, status and ordering new supplies. Overall, this is a very good printer if you're not printing huge numbers of copies every month.

Not obvious how to use without constant resorting to online instructions - a printed manual would be beneficial. Sad that it cannot cope with double-sided scanning.

All functions with this printer are activated via the HP Smart App which did take me a little time to become used to as my previous printer worked direct from my laptop or smartphone. This was particularly the case when scanning as there are a range of settings to go through and select. Just take time to carefully choose the appropriate settings to avoid disappointment. That said the 6420 works swiftly and produces excellent quality prints and photos. The auto document feeder is a great extra feature.

It's been few months since I have had the use ...

It's been few months since I have had the use of my printer now. The installation was a breeze. I connected my laptop within minutes and the mobile too. From the first use till now I have been impressed with the speed it prints and the quality of the prints are excellent too. The children have found the use of this printer to be easy too. Love my new printer.
