DO NOT BUY!!! Be aware of the oven spark ignitor.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are completely unhappy with this purchase. The oven has a spark ignitor vs glow bar ignitor. The spark ignitor goes off and on literally every 1-2 minutes during the baking cycle. You can clearly hear (loud) the spark clicking and burst of flame constantly. We were so concerned with this matter that we even called a tech out to come look at it for fear it was malfunctioning. We were told that this was normal. The oven constantly going off and back on every 1-2 minutes to "maintain" temperature. We were told the glow bar ignitor does this too, but as often and is much quieter. DO NOT PURCHASE this type of stove/oven with a spark ignitor. We were left very unhappy and unsatisfied with this purchase and neither the store we bought it from nor Maytag will accept a return even though it has been less than 3 weeks after purchasing it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was surprised at how tempermental it is when changing temperature or timer, if you don't check the oven it can be canceled. My other Maytag never did that. Don't real crazy about only two top grates. Iv'e always had four and I think these are quite cumbersome. An elderly person wouldn't be able to manage them with ease.
I would recommend this to a friend!

labor intensive cleaning?!

HOW do I clean stove top (black ceramic? finish)....constantly smears - I have used reputable stovetop cleaners, rinsed it well, buffed it with dry cloth....every single fingertip mark shows and the whole thing reverts to SMEARY , for want of a better word. I am a senior citizen and do not have enough years left that I want to devote most of them to try to clean this stove top............WHAT am I doing wrong? I have used degreasers, Mr. Clean sponges, soap/water, etc. etc. Opted for black because stainless shows marks....sorry, it doesn't show an eighth of the smeary junk that is on this black surface. Thought maybe it came with a protective coating that had to be erased, but it isn't going anywhere. Otherwise, it heats uber fast - burners are almost too hot even on low settings?!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Burns food

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using my gas range for over a week and I’m very dissatisfied with its performance.
I do a lot of cooking and The stoves lowest setting is still too high to cook some foods. It pretty much burns some meals.
I regret purchasing this Maytag range.

Burners too close together

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stove is a basic stove, no frills. It doesn't even have convection. The burners are all too close together, making it impractical to use the middle burner for the griddle or to use more than two burners at a time.
