Another disappointing year for the holiday set

Like last year's Main Street this set is also disappointing. While the log cabin style is fun to build and the need for logging sets is high this set it pretty poorly designed. Ice rink is also a nice touch.
Cons:
Roof is not held down at all, if you pick it up by the top the roof opens up unlike all other holiday sets.
There is a one stud gab between the coffee station and the window, why? Wasted space and the potential to lose bricks back there.
First floor seating is barely secured, easily comes off when moving the set.
Overall it just seems the attention to detail is a bit low on this set, lots of focus on the outside facade but not much anywhere else.

Once finished, the set looks good. Building it was annoying. Several of the pieces would fall off the set when trying to attach more.
At 60 yrs old, I don’t often worry about the playability of a set, but the doors won’t open because of the “rug” behind it.
The outhouse is cute. The skating pond is innovative. Again, it looks good but it’s difficult to assemble and I wouldn’t let kids play with it because it’s rather flimsy.

Alpine Lodge order

I had a lot of fun building this set until I came upon a missing piece. This is the only time this has ever happened to me with a purchased set. I was able to find a substitute but don't feel I should have had to for the price. Given the nearness to the holidays, I didn't feel I could return it though.

Step down in quality

The designer(s) of this set left too much dead space and cut corners on pieces used, while including an unnecessary amount of extra pieces . For example under the blue bed they left out pieces underneath that could have added sturdiness for playability. Additionally behind the coffee stand and to the left and right of it there are empty spaces that could have been utilized. While I do like the appearance of the set, the building process revealed obvious flaws that show a step down in the quality of the structural designs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The little tree that's on the sled very much resembles a swastika on the bottom.

Nice addition to the Holiday Houses

The Alpine Lodge was a fun build. The "logs" were new to me but came together nicely. This is a great addition to my other Winter houses, (Gingerbread, Santa's visit, Elf Clubhouse). They look great together. It was an easy build for me, but fun and I loved the look of the lodge when it was finished. I hope they offer a log cabin set one day! :)

Incredibly fun set!

This was an absolute pleasure to build! I got to build it with a friend and we were smiling the whole time. Tons a cool techniques used, lots of funny and cute touches, and an overall nice display piece for the holidays. I would wholeheartedly recommend this for parents, hobbyists, and even new builders who love the winter aesthetic.
