Great tool but.......

This three in one tool is very useful but my primary reason for buying was the mower housing portion with the four support wheels. I am a retired mechanical engineer and the loose tolerances between the housing and the unit seem to be the problem with the mower housing disengaging from the unit. I have used a simple bungee cord to help to eliminate this issue and it seems to really help. Please see the attached photos. Thanks for this lightweight very useful tool.

Very Useful for Small Trimming Jobs

Bought one nearly 6months ago and my wife loves it. Our house is on a 1/2-acre lot with 50ft x 90ft Raised Beds Vegetable Garden in the back, and flower beds and 6 fruit trees in front. I have severe allergies and asthma so can't do yard work any more and my wife is disabled. She uses a 20hp Lawn & Garden Mower for the primary mowing and this trimmer to touch up along the fence line and around the flower & vegetable beds and fruit trees, much easier for her than struggling with a full sized push mower. We have several other tools that use the same battery so we have at least a half dozen batteries and several chargers, so having enough charged batteries to finish the job is not an issue.

Perfect for my needs

My wife bought this mower/trimmer for me. I have an 8 ft. hill in the front of my house. I had been pushing a traditional (and very heavy) mower up and down that darn hill. I have used this mower 4 times now, and I cold not see myself without it now! I love it. For what I need it for it does a great job. I can do the hill and a little trimming with one battery, and I can do some more mowing or trimming with the other. However, three are a few issues with it also. First, the front handle slips and readjusts sometimes. Second, it really does not like to mow high grass. The battery will drain very quickly. Other than that, I just love this little mower. I tell my wife that it is like I am vacuuming the lawn. I can not wait to get some of the other trimmers from Black and Decker that use the same battery.

I love this lightweight mower trimmer since I transformed with the bungee cord suggestion from Mike54. The bungee cord stops the lower housing portion from separating from the trimmer unit. I think Black & Decker owes Mike54 with an orange bungee for his great suggestion.

With both batteries charged up, I can get most of my yard done. I understand what others are saying about the trimmmer popping out of the chassis. I see how that could happen if you're not careful. It is just plastic. I would LOVE to see Black & Decker make this product using a lightweight aluminum so that it is more durable. How about it BD?

Great, Versatile Tool for the Money!

I bought this to do some of my yard myself instead of paying a service to do it, and it has worked just fine for that.
Pros: Lightweight, easy to handle, fairly easy to learn how to do everything. I was able to edge and mow my yard with this, and I'm 62 and not in great shape.
Cons: I did find that it took a couple of charges of each 2.0 AH 20V battery to get all of my yard done. My whole piece of property is 1/2 acre, but the house & pool take up a lot of that and 1/3 of it is preserve area that does not get mowed. I have since bought two other Black & Decker yard tools with the larger 40V batteries, and those do not fit into this tool because they are 1.5 AH. I also had to replace the string reel after only one mowing. Wish it had come with an extra one of those!
All in all, this was a pretty good value for the price!

Saw online, daughter bought for me, I’m a somewhat disabled older lady with nerve damage in neck/arms but this little jewel even I can use with ease! I absolutely love it. I’m gonna get another one just in case! Now I can trim walkways and weeds myself!

Light, easy to use, and perfect for small jobs

I have a very small yard and this is perfect to keep it well-groomed! It's super light so it's easy to get out and put away. It's quick and easy to go back and forth between the "mower' and the weed eater functions. It's also easy to use and easy to maneuver around the wildflowers in my yard that I don't want to cut down. Just make sure both batteries are fully charged before you begin, as they take a very long time to recharge.
