The perfectly portable precision cutting machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little powerhouse is AMAZING. I am astounded at the precision cutting of the Xtra, no matter how intricate of a design I throw its way. I would always take my Joy with me to crafting classes and events (even vacation) because the Maker 3 was just too cumbersome to disconnect and load/unload. This beauty is half the size of the Maker 3 and only weighs 6 pounds! I also appreciate the size of the materials and mats; another advantage of the smaller machine. You can literally fit everything you need in one banker box. I've made stickers, iron-on, vinyl decals, printable vinyl, labels, and printable iron-on for dark fabric - all without issue. And, with the larger mat and card mat I can make ANY size card. The only drawback I've noticed so far is that you can't score, but that's only an issue if I wanted to make a 3D paper craft. This is the PERFECT machine for any beginner because of the size, ease of use, vast array of materials available, and portability. This will be my recommended machine to anyone embarking on a Cricut adventure going forward. Well done Cricut!

Bought this for my wife for her crafting room. We spent 5 hours trying to print, ended up giving up and put it back in the box. Nothing but error after error. Uninstall the software reinstall the software over and over. No matter what size paper we put in, it said paper is to small. It had the paper size wrong every time. She said send it back, I’m not wasting my time on this garbage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed that I can't use my laptop with it

I do most of my work on a HP Envy laptop and it will not connect with the Joy Xtra. I called Cricut and they said it will not work with Windows 11. Bummer, but they are working on it but its been about a month so far and I haven't heard back from Cricut one way or the other.

I love my new Joy Xtra! I got it as an early Christmas present. I think it cuts even better than my 3 year old Maker! I’ve used the Xtra to make two Christmas shadowboxes, a mini Christmas house and some tiny wreaths. It’s wonderful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Joy Xtra is the perfect machine for the crafter on the go, anyone that doesn’t have much craft space, or for those that make smaller projects like cards, shirts, or stickers. At only 6 pounds, it is the perfect size to take to crops. I love that I can cut 8.5 x 11 paper and all the new products on it.

Such an awesome little machine. The compact size makes it so easy to travel with. The neutral color makes it blend in, in any room. I love the new printable materials and ease of use.

Do Not Buy

Do not buy the joy xtra. I was so excited about getting this. I immediately set it up and did a test run with it and it worked perfect. The next day I went to make more very basic vinyl decals and have had constant connection issues where the machine is bluetooth connected but won't connect when I try to make anything. What an expensive piece of garbage. I should have just stuck with a USB connected one - this one does not even have that option. So I'm stuck with one that simply does not work. Very dissappointed.
