I trimmed all my shrubs the day after I bought it!

It's nice and light and it works well on the light duty shrubbery around the house. It's light enough to use one hand to reach behind into the tight spots between the house and the shrubs. I always dreaded bringing out the extension cords. No More!. Especially around the pool area, this tool is worth buying. It got jammed a couple times in the thicker branches, but just take out the battery and pull the branch out and you're back in business. I didn't do a great job this year on the shrubs, but since I got this they look great. My wife was amazed at how good it looks and how fast I finished up. Now if I could only get her to rake up the clippings.....

Great little hedge trimmer

I talked myself into ordering this battery hedge trimmer before Christmas
for our Christmas, and the first time I got to try it out I was very happy I had ordered this 22 inch battery hedge trimmer. For over 20 years, I have had the same trimmer but with electric cords to fight. I am on oxygen, and use a rollator I kept cutting my oxygen cannulas and a few cords into because one or both were always in the way. I highly recommend the 20V Max 22 inch hedge trimmer. I think it has plenty of power for the size jobs as stated it can handle. For me, it is also lighter in weight which helps me a lot, as I am a very short person and weigh 112 pounds. It works absolutely perfect for my use.

Motor Smoked and Burnt Out

Bought this in 2016 and this was my 3rd time 9/2018 I used it. Only Light work. Smoked, Smelled Really Bad, Motor Burnt Out???? Still waiting for a reply Why.

I wish I would have bought this tool years ago. I had been hand-pruning a fairly large bush by our back patio and also one by our master bedroom for years. I always dreaded the job, but this trimmer does the job quickly and easily! I had already purchased the String trimmer that is compatible with this 20volt tool, so I now have 2 chargers and 3 batteries to take care of all of my yard needs. This unit was very easy to put together and also easy to use. It is light enough to lift higher to get the tops of that pesky bush. Seems well made and sturdy. I have only used it one time, but so far I'm very pleased with it!

When "they" say it is warrantied for 2 yrs... they and not kidding I got 3 seasons use out of my trimmer. So if you average it out yep 2 years and it's DEAD! also it "ate" Batteries . To do my hedges I needed to purchase 2 additional batteries to be able to complete the task that I could do with my "corded" trimmer. On the plus side ....it was much "lighter" to work with and I did like that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This 20V and the 40V ARE NOT for seniors. I am 70 year of old and on July 19th I was trimming my property line where my neighbor's weeds were on my line and fence. I was using the hedge trimmers on his weeds when I was about to drop it. I used my left hand to catch it and it chewed my first 3 fingers badly!! 27 stitches. I no longer have any cutting tools at my home.

Light weight, easy to use, and does the job

I am loving this light weight hedge trimmer. I am a woman with very little arm strength and when my husband's electric trimmer bit the dust, I started looking for a trimmer I could use easily. This one got very good reviews, and I can see why. The light weight is super important to me, it is very quiet, and it does a great job of trimming back our lovely silverthorn hedges along our fence line. The battery lasted about 45 minutes, which was good because I was getting tired by then. It will cut through 3/4 inch size branches, but if they are more woody than green, I found if I bump it 2-3 times it worked better than just steadily holding it on those branches. The smaller stuff, it ate it down. Very happy! Will be looking for more Black & Decker cordless products!
