SOO LOUD

This unit is soooo loud. I bought it to cool down my office area that doesn't have ac but can't keep it on during meetings (which I'm basically in all day) because I can't hear anything outside of the noise from this unit. Quiet mode is like the volume I'd hear from my floor unit on full power (not a GE floor unit) but that setting decreases the cooling so much that it does nothing. It was 98 degrees today and I had to live with all 98 degrees during my all-day working session because this ac unit is too loud to work around. Would not recommend.

We would like to assist you with the sound level of your air conditioner. We recommend checking that the front grille is in good condition, the air filter is clean, and the unit is installed properly. Remove the grille and inspect it to confirm it is not damaged. If it is not broken, reinstall the grille.
Make sure to check and clean the air filter, and remove any debris or dirt from the exterior of the air conditioner. You can clean the air filter by following the instructions on page 8 of the owner's manual here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--mi7DgP9A--/aynprhpzrgpyoy07ym83.pdf
Additionally, you can find installation information starting on page 9 and information on reducing the sound level of the unit on page 15 of said owner's manual.
If the issue persists, we recommend contacting our warranty department at 833-426-3393.

Dead after 2 months.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These units are garbage. I have gone through 3 of these under warranty and each one is now dead with a bad user interface board. Do not buy, you will not get any type of longevity out of these if you are a humid location. Moisture gets is board and then it’s done for. GE does not provide replacement parts on top of all that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
