PP1 is Not even worth 1 star. Purchased this horrible product to be locked out via the Artspira App that does not work in Australia. Still no solution. I think generally Brother hate creation. Fix the app.
Was looking at other Brother products to expand but this experience has me shopping to go elsewhere to other companies for embroidery machines.

Love my Skitch

So far I am very happy with my Skitch! I have been doing embroidery for 30 years or more and I was excited for something new and small. I make memory bears and I just need a small area to be able to embroider. This machine works perfect for that. My only complaint is the app, I would prefer to work on my laptop and not the small space of my phone. If that is possible please let me know. I also have two brother sewing machines that I love!

This looked like a great idea, but it just doesn’t work reliably. The bobbin turns during operation, breaking needles and thread.

Waste of time and money, DO NOT BUY!

I have had my Skitch for 3 weeks now and have yet to make a completed design. I have broken and bent a dozen needles, countless number or snags and ruined projects, my bobbin case is chewed up and needs to be replaced, I have never been so disappointed in a name brand product before. don't waste your time or money!

Great idea poor execution.

Purchased the Skitch PP1 with high hopes of starting a fun new hobby. Huge disappointment. First the software. If you don't have an iPad or Android tablet don't bother. Trying to use your phone to manage and adjust your work is terrible. There is no computer option and you have no choice but to pay a monthly fee (eventually) and send everything through the Artspria app. Next the product, the first patch run I made turned out pretty good but text was very difficult to get consistent. Second run of the same patch was frustrating. Lot's of thread jam's and cutter was functioning intermittently. Third run of the same patch was a disaster. Unit jammed on first thread color and it was a mess. Cleaned it all up and made another attempt. Nope. Cutter stopped working and it just jammed each attempt. After about an hour of frustration I packaged it up and sent it back for a refund. Guess I'll find a higher quality used machine to give the new hobby another try.

Bobbin case get stuck often,I already bought a couple brand new bobbin cases bit it keeping getting stuck

In-operable The needle breaks often, the app doesn't make satin stitches, nor can you bring files into the app or machine. If we were talking about looks, it would be a killer. But looks aren't what make patches. I would say it's worse then my other brother machine, but that's in-operable too, due to needle clamp assembly not being available for purchase/replacement. Turn around, you don't want this machine.

I CANNOT believe how terrible the PP1 embroidery machine is. I got this as a gift, and from the very first setup, it’s been nothing but a nightmare.
This machine CONSTANTLY jams, makes a ridiculous amount of thread “bird nests,” and sometimes gets so stuck that I have to CUT the thread from underneath the fabric just to keep going. It’s infuriating, stressful, and completely unusable.
I’ve watched all the tutorials, tried every fix I could find, and nothing works. Every single time I use it, I have to hover over it like a hawk because it WILL mess up. Why even bother paying for an app when the machine itself is a disaster?
I have two other Brother machines, and they work perfectly. The PP1 is a total failure in comparison. Whoever designed this thing clearly didn’t test it at all. I can see why it’s on sale—because it SUCKS. They should throw every single one of these in the trash and never sell them. Selling this is a surefire way to lose customers.
I’ve sent them an email about these issues, and I’m waiting to see how they can actually help. I hope they don’t just send the same generic response to everyone. Visit www.support… (PP1) if you want to see what I’m talking about. Brother, I still have hopes that you’ll fix this—prove that you care about your customers!
DO NOT BUY THE PP1. Total waste of money, complete garbage, and an insult to Brother’s reputation.
