I am happy to use glass to make my seltzer. This machine is easy to use and is very modern. I like how it springs open. It looks great on my kitchen counter. I need to buy additional glass bottles. I also like the shape of the bottle

Huge upgrades: multiple bubble options. Delicious water. Don’t need to worry about a mess with the enclosure. And of course the quick-access canister.
An upgrade would be usb rechargeable or battery-powered so you don’t have to plug it in.
I also was under the assumption that the cap would auto-rise once I unlocked it and gave it a nudge. It doesn’t. It’s a little tough to push it down all the way and lock it. It’s also a bit tough to lift it.

Glass bottles are fantastic

I’ve had a soda stream for years and I decided to upgrade to the e-duo. It’s so simple to use, and having the three settings to use to determine how much fizz to add is the best. The glass bottles make the water seem so much colder and better. So glad I waited for them since they were out of stock for a while.

Top of the line!

Love that this machine takes the guesswork out of carbonating drinks. Huge plus for me that it uses glass bottles. This is a replacement for the penguin model that also used glass bottles. Timing for replacement was perfect. I don’t buy bottled water or drinks because of the waste (even if plastic is recyclable). Basically paying for water, lugging it home, storing then repeat. No gracias.

Great unit, but you can throw out your existing accessories :(

My original Sodastream blew a seal or something and would no longer work It was leaking CO2 and spitting water everywhere. So I thought I'd upgrade to the DUO as the new mechanism looked a lot sturdier and I liked the idea of using glass bottles.
Upon it's arrival I found out that it is not compatible with my existing original gas cylinders of which I had 2 full and 1 half full (so that's money down the drain), the quick connect cylinders are not available at my local supermarket so I have to drive to another area specifically to exchange for them, and the DUO does not support the original sized sodastream bottles (I had 4 of them, so I can throw those away too!).
Just be aware that if you're replacing an original unit, you can't re-use any of your old items. That alone deserves taking away 2 stars, but I have been impressed with the DUO since I got it and love the glass bottles, so it gets 1 star back.
