Been Waiting For This!

Since the release of the AquaFizz, I have always thought of and wanted a carbonator that can use both glass and plastic bottles. Finally, SodaStream released this! What I do not like about this are (1) it is electric, which means that I will not be able to enjoy freshly carbonated drinks when there is power outage. What would be better are to (a) make this manual just like the Terra with 3 buttons for the level of fizz and (b) have it also rechargeable; (2) the presence of the flask similar to AquaFizz. Personally, I like to see the carbonation in action real time, so it would be better if the flask is removed. Also, removal of the flask would take out a few steps and a few seconds off the process, which would make the experience faster and more efficient; and (3) the cover or lid of the flask that automatically goes back up. Because of this feature, the E-Duo is taller than the Terra model and about the same height as AquaFizz. Most kitchen counterspaces, like mine, do not have enough vertical clearance between the counterspace and the cabinets to house this E-Duo. Terra fits just fine. Because SodaStream’s plastic bottles have a “Best Used By” or “Expiration” date (ours will need to be replaced next year), this E-Duo is good for me, who wants to keep using our plastic bottles until they need to be discarded while also using glass bottles (that are way better for the environment and for my pockets since they last forever if you take good care of them). I hope that SodaStream comes up with another version that has all the improvements I suggested — that would be really brilliant.

Love it!

I have this machine for 4 months now. I got it as a gift for my birthday! I love it because I can control how bubbly I want my beverage and it comes with a glass carafe that is so elegant. I bought the Pepsi Zero and Starry flavors when I got it and they taste so close to the real thing. I highly recommend it!

My wife started drinking soda water a while back and we try to get the better brands in glass bottles. So I love the fact that our SodaStream Duo has the option of glass or plastic. I feel like we've already saved money with this purchase because we were buying so many bottles of soda water. Now we're making a leader or two sometimes three or four a day. Absolutely love the flavor it gives the water without adding any flavors to it.
