Solo Stove Yukon

I purchased the Solo Sove Yukon during the Kickstarter campaign. Since recovering the stove I have used it a couple times. The best things about it is how much heat it can put off and the low amount of smoke. It is great for gathering around it with a lot of friends. I think the stainless will hold up really well. This is well built and I am sure it will be around for as long as I am.

NoKaOi-"Da best" and so is the team at solo stove that filled my order. Wanted it sooner that the standard leadtime for my oldest sons wedding rehersal dinner, and you did it. Thanks.
The product is well built and designed, and a beautiful piece of backyard furniture. This is coming from someone in the semiconductor machining and sheet metal industry.
Finally tested it with a full belly of wood, including some hard to burn pieces from my previous fire pit. It all burned hot and to completion. The Yukon works best at full capacity/when the heat is up. My wife commented that smoke didn't drift into the house or freak out our neighbors. Let me get to what all of you want to know? How does it roast marshmallows.
Are you used to getting your marshmallows to close to the wood and the marshmallow igniting or falling into the fire? The Yukon burns the wood at 1400F, so hold the marshmallow way above the coals ~just inside the top of the opening and slowly rotate it for perfectly browned and melted inside, Best some mores ever! I know some of you have perfected torching your marshmallows, you can do that by putting the stick deeper into the unit, make sure it is not wood and don't get it on the beautiful stove. Aloha

This fire pit does exactly what it claims. Fires start quickly. It kicks off a ton of heat and there is literally no smoke, allowing us to put this closer to our home without the worry of the sm

We love our YUKON. Early Dads Day gift and he loves it. Living in Colorado we will be using this a lot and enjoying our beautiful night sky without smoke in our eyes. It looks great on our back patio too. Thanx for making a bigger one !

Love it!

We love our solo stove! We find that it really is smokeless from the additional combustion when we burn it hot enough. It's been a great addition to our new home in Vermont throughout the winter and fall seasons and we look forward to it being a centerpiece of our October wedding!

Yukon review

The Yukon is a beautiful outdoor fire pit that seems to do what it claims although I have yet to see fire coming out of the top inside ring of holes like in the video. Mmm. The biggest problem for the big stove is that I have to pick it up and turn it upside down to empty the ashes! Really guys? I’m a senior citizen and a 45lb Stove plus ash is kind of awkward to carry by my self over to some out of the way place to dump it. I have a hard time believing you spent a year developing the Yukon and did not include a Removable Grate so one could simply shovel out excessive ash like a normal fire ring. I will have to cut and engineer this myself. Fix this and you will have a great stove worthy of 5 Stars.

I’m impressed.

First, an explanation. I live in a rainy area in Pennsylvania, so it took a few weeks after my purchase of the Yukon before we had a dry evening to try it out. I must say, after the first fire, I am very impressed! The ease of starting the Yukon, the quality of flame, (I’ve never seen such an all over flame in any of my other fires) and heat produced,(it kept us quite warm) caused quite a positive reaction from my spouse. We could sit close to the fire, not bothered by much smoke. We appreciated the heat it provided. I happen to love putting loads of logs on my fires. The Yukon obliged. It did rain later that evening, so the next morning I flipped it over to drain the water out and discovered a few ashes and no logs left! Sweet! This fire pit will get much use at my house this summer. I’m glad I bought it.

The Last Fire Pit You Should Ever Need To Buy
on May 21, 2019

The SoloStove Yukon looks as good as it performs, right out of the box, unless it gets dented, which it appears to be susceptible to.
PROs Upon un-boxing my Yukon, a fairly large dent was visible on the side, which put a big damper on my excitement of finally getting it in. After contacting Customer Service (they were great), I was back in a positive mood and looking forward to trying it out.
After a few minutes of setting it in place and gathering wood, we had a virtually smoke free fire that gradually went to smokeless and more heat producing than any other fire pit I've experienced. Although the fire size was increased and it burned for a couple of hours, in the morning, all that was left was a small amount of white ash!
CONs Since setting it out and using it, I've been a little disappointed that it doesnt come with, or have as an accessory you can buy, a cover or carying bag. So far, I have used the thin plastic bag it came in but that doesn't keep it completely dry and the rim has already discolored a little. Hopefully they will address this soon.
