I'm Actually Satisfied!
on May 19, 2020

I had wanted a backyard fire but my husband doesn't want the smoke. It took a while to talk him into getting a Solo Stove and after our first fire in the Yukon with 8 people sitting warmly around it he announces "I had to spend money on this and I'm actually satisfied." He has been telling everyone we know how great the stove is, and he is correct. I am also quite happy and may even get one of the smaller ones for our camping and road trips in the future!

Yukon Firepit Review
on May 22, 2020

Excellent value for money !
Plenty holes in firepit bottom for as close to close to complete combustion as possible. Re-burn ring works great. No dodging smoke.
Average burn time is 5 hours. When I turn firepit upside down I've never gotten more than 3 full measuring cups of ash.
Would highly recommend to anyone.

This is absolutely the best fire pit you can purchase!!!! Worth every penny. Keeps you warm and looks awesome. Ever since we bought this we never smell like smoke after sitting at the fire all night.

Our Yukon makes everything better...
on May 25, 2020

Total disclosure: We’ve followed Solo Stove for over two years. we have a fabulous 36” fire pit in our background. It’s the first thing we built after moving in 5 years ago. I share this to give background and context. We love that fire pit. We’re campers at heart.
Enter Solo Stove. Disclosure number two: we’ve been saving for a third floor deck for many years and imagining the amazing nights we’d have with our Mountain View in said deck.
And then the time finally came. Deck built. The Solo Stove was ordered the day we signed the deck contract. Our Yukon arrived well ahead of the deck’s completion and we happily looked at it, sitting in our garage - for two weeks, ya’ll.
And then the sunny Thursday afternoon arrived. Deck (decently) completed and only a few tweaks to be made. It was the Thursday before a long holiday weekend and we knew - that Yukon’s getting unboxed and unveiled. It might have been 10 minutes after the contractors left. We were hauling it up three stories to sit pristinely on our brand new Trex deck. We made drinks. After all, we are seasoned fire pitters (is that a word, haha) and drinks are mandatory as it’s lovely commitment to enjoy the night with a beast of a fire. And let me tell you, friends, this is exactly what the Yukon delivers.
Thanks for hanging out this long in a review. Simply put, the Yukon delivers. It will make more of a dent in your wood pile than any in ground fire pit as it heats so very quickly, maintains heat and is so efficient. There will be no more nights where you’re cold, loving the fire but secretly wanting to retreat to the warmth of your house / tent. Nope, this bad boy chews through wood and does not disappoint. Your only flaw is not to feed it properly. So important, that we ordered an outdoor firewood holder for the deck. We won’t be caught outta wood. And thinking about the “smokeless” claims? It’s true. If you feed the Yukon, give it about 30 minutes, give or take, for the heat to build, you’re good. We had smoke on a few nights: when we used wet pine (I know, our bad) and when we weren’t patient (again, I know).
Thinking about it?!! The Yukon is a fire pit best left stationary and enjoyed each and every night you want a fire. Our only challenge is that Solo Stove doesn’t offer a stainless steel snuffer and / or a heat diverted. But hey, maybe these are in process with their R&D team? A girl can hope. I’m the meantime, cheers, friends.

Yukon Fire Pit with accessories
on May 27, 2020

We purchased the Yukon Fire Pit over a month ago, and have used it often....it burns a nice clean fire with very little smoke. Of course now we purchased the accessories that go with it, the shelter keeps the pit nice and clean and dry, the roasting sticks are designed to let you cook on the fire without food dropping in the fire....living in the city limits we need to keep the fire to a minimum and this is the best fire pit we have ever had!!! Our 7 grandchildren visit us often and always want a fire, which is easy to get started and to keep burning, Grandma can even do it!!

Disappointing
on June 3, 2020

This stove is NOT smokeless, until the fire is really going well, but that is generally true with almost any style of pit. Company suggests turning it upside down after every fire to empty. REALLY? The Yukon at 45 pounds is bulky making this really inconvenient. There needs to be a better way of emptying the ashes. The "domed" interior floor makes building a fire challenging. Wood often slides down to the outside before it is lit. Traditional teepee building is ineffective. The best way I've found is to build a log cabin style fire with larger pieces on the outside to stop the sliding. I should have considered what it will look like over time. The stainless develops a patina which isn't necessary the appearance I would have preferred. I coated the outside with a thin layer of vegetable oil which has helped and it is covered when cooled and not in use. We still enjoy the fires, but we did so with less fuss and at a FAR reduced cost with our other fire pit. For the expense this stove should be flawless, but it is not.

Smokeless Delight
on June 5, 2020
Posted by: Timothy
I ordered the Yukon Solo Stove based on the recommendations of friends who had the smaller bonfire. While I enjoyed sitting fireside to their Bonfire, I decided that I would like a larger Solo Stove for our paver patio area, replacing a stone firepit. The larger size of the Yukon is a perfect fit for our paver patio and we really enjoy the "smokeless" fire that the Solo Stove provides versus a conventional firepit. It allows for a full ring of useable seating without the concern to be moving chairs due to smoke drift. A definite "thumbs up".

expectations not met
on June 5, 2020

I purchased Yukon on Oct. 2019 with high expectations, but it did not meet it. First, its not smokeless, does it have less smoke, yes. 2nd, where you put the wood is convex, which makes it harder to keep the log balanced and in the middle. 3rd. cleaning is a challenge. You need another person to pick the Yukon up and flip it over to get ashes out and tap at it multiple times over and over again!
It is good looking and wood does burn well if it's clean with ashes. would I buy this product again, no.
