Beautiful piece of equipment

Fell in love with my brother in law’s smaller fire pit and had to grab this one—my wife was sold when she didn’t smell like smoke after spending two hours next to it. Received six weeks early! Very pleased. Absolutely works like a charm, though I echo the review below about the crown making it difficult to get started. Have to do a little balancing with the kindling.

A little disappointed...

First of all, I haven't used it for a fire yet (still a little too cold), so I am not rating how well it burns (though I anticipate that will be great). I am disappointed by the design, however. I ordered sight unseen from kickstarter. While it looks beautiful, cleaning is going to be a major issue. The pit weighs a ton, and you cannot remove the domed grate that elevates the wood, so the only way to clean the pit is to somehow pick it up and tip it upside down. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be fired (the directions make it seem like this should be easy). They could have added a slide out tray or made the grate removable, so the pit could be cleaned by scooping out the ash, and it would be a much better product. Flipping it with one person is basically impossible unless you want to scratch the sides, so to clean it you need 2 or 3 adults. That is just absurd. Maybe I am missing something, but I don't see any other way to do it.

Totally love this pit, I was a little concerned about the dome shaped bottom when I unpacked it, I thought it made the pit to shallow for a good sized fire but it works great! I did complain about my bonfire bottom warping, this just proved to me that they listen to concerns of customers. Great Job! Thanks

An investment that yields a return in one use!

It seems like a lot of money for a backyard stove, having used it, I wold pay more. This is the single greatest purchase I have made for home and I am including the TVS and my bed. The Yukon is just big enough to feel substantial and just small enough to not be overwhelming. It really makes so little smoke it seems magical. Something I was not expecting but enjoy about it is the height that the heat begins radiating out is near the top so we could snuggle up to this great fire without it melting off our skin. You will be satisfied!

Have Bonfire Upgraded to Yukon

Had the Bonfire for 2 years and have really enjoyed its size and portability. Of course along with its performance of pure flame little smoke. Only down side was having to scrounge the firewood pile for sizes to fit in it or having to cut some of my stock. Enter Yukon. No need to cut wood anymore. Every piece of wood cut to fit my cord stand go perfectly inside the Yukon. Burns great every time. Highly recommend.

This is my first Solostove product, but it will not be my last. I tried the Yukon out for the first time and it worked perfectly. I could not be happier, and I can't wait to try out some other Solostove products!

Not as good as the Solo Bonfire

I hate to be less positive but just want people to understand that this design is not the same as the Solo Bonfire that we have and love. It is still a very well crafted and beautiful product - but due to the domed base it hasn’t seemed to perform as well as the Bonfire (which is a marvel). The design change was necessary due to size - it’s too bad they couldn’t have come up with a better solution like simple reinforcement. It’s still like the best large firepit you can buy but purchases should be aware of the differences as it doesn’t seem to produce the same smokeless effect nearly as well as the previous products did.
