Fire up the Yukon!
on February 23, 2019
Posted by: Daniel Goepp
We just received our Yukon yesterday, so we have only had one fire, but it was an amazing one. We couldn't wait. We stopped cleaning the garage to setup the fire pit right away. It was super easy to get going, and what an amazing flame, I've never seen anything like it. The way it burns all the wood so evenly is honestly just a little strange, but awesome. Love this thing, I might have to buy more for my family. I'm going to try some of the smaller ones too.

Finally Arrived

Our Yukon arrived to. Thing is huge. Can’t wait to light up a fire and try it out. Only issue so far is it arrived with a dent on the side towards the bottom. I tried to pop it out the beat I could. Hope it doesn’t affect the burn etc. I figure it will get some dings eventually but for the cost I just wish it was dinged by me first.

I Love my Yukon, but I'm still not getting rid of my Bonfire!

Received my Yukon the other day, and after solving a very minor issue with it, very satisfactorily I might add, with Solo Stove CS, I fired it up and was not disappointed. Just like the Bonfire, this unit burns clean and efficient, but this thing is a BEAST! I usually stack my firewood in the Bonfire vertically around the edge, but with the Yukon I am able to stack full pieces of firewood, criss-crossed lincoln log style, and still have a clean roaring fire. First fire I only used four pieces, and the fire was spectacular. Looks like the Bonfire may be relegated to my beach firepit. Yukon is another homerun by Solo Stove!

Simply Amazing!

So happy with my Yukon. The increased size over the Bonfire is perfect for my needs. As with the Bonfire, one of the best things is the lack of smoke. Great heat output is another bonus. Great quality in an exceptional product.

This thing is insane.

Okay...the best thing to describe this is maybe comparing it to a jet engine. It’s the biggest smokeless bonfire pit I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I own a beach bonfire company. This is the coolest firepit in the world. Endless Beach Rentals considers this the gold standard. We pride ourselves in using the best equipment. Solo stove is the absolutely the best!

Almost great....

Bought this as a more permanent solution to (amazing) bonfire stove. First the good stuff: Size is PERFECT for a backyard fire pit. The bonfire was a tad small in this regards (though still a great portable option). Also, thankful they sent a cover with this model - I wish they had them for the bonfire! Ok, so the not-so-great stuff: I hate the huge crown they put on the "fire grate," Im assuming they had to do this for strength since the area is so much bigger- but it really makes it awkward to start a small fire with kindling. The small pieces want to roll to the edges of the cylinder- which is exactly NOT what you'd want. Once a big fire is blazing, this isn't as big a deal. Btw, this is NOT property reflected in the photos or promo videos.... Those make it appear pretty flat. The other design issue is around maintenance. Since these stoves need to be flipped completely upside-down (and shaken a bit) to clean- a unit this big really needed some handles or hand-holds. The bonfire is right at the limit of the size that can be easily flipped by one person- this one is too big for that.
