You will never order pizza

Beautiful, easy to use, but not a “wood fired” pizza maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The stove, like all Solo products, is lovely and well designed. The stove lights up as well as any propane grill I’ve used. I haven’t seen it get much beyond 700 degrees using my infra thermometer, and definitely not 900, even though I often let it preheat on high for over 30 minutes.
That said, it will absolutely cook a pizza in 90 seconds. I recommend getting the pizza turner because doing it with a regular pizza skid won’t be possible. You need a smaller surface to rotate it around in there.
Every pizza I’ve made has been very good tasting so no complaints overall. But… my gripe, and the reason I’m only giving 3 stars, is I cannot get that charred wood fired crust effect at all. I’ve tried different doughs, minimal toppings and moisture, turning down the heat to let it sit in the stove longer, but ultimately every pizza is a bit “doughier” than anybody expects or wants. With the heat up at the recommended range it cooks so fast you have to remove it before the cheese blackens. But even turning the heat down after the stone is hot, I struggle to get the classic crispy crust. It’s disappointing, given the price.
