Poor Sink Drainage

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The disposer came with our new house. From day #1 (about six months ago) the sink fails to drain or drains very slowly unless the disposer is running; what an energy waste! I wish Frigidaire would correct this for us. In the meantime, I wonder if I could cut the splash guard to promote drainage -- but without compromising its function. Do you have answers? The disposer performance otherwise has been good.

If your sink is draining slowly when the disposer is off, there may be a clog in the pipes! We would recommend draining out the pipes to check for blockages or using a plunger on the drain from the top. A plumber may be able to assist with this, as well. We do not recommend cutting the splash guard as this will cause grinding food and water to spurt back up into the sink. Best disposal I have Ever Had!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Almost two months and not an issue yet. The disposal is pretty quiet considering the power and again it's a disposal. Works great and looks great. Nice casing and quality parts from looks of it and again sounds great.

works great!
