Now I'm a fan of Google Pixel!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been a fantastic experience, testing out the newest version of Google Pixel. I have always been an android fan and never used or desired an iPhone. In particular, the Samsung Galaxy line is what I typically stick with. Coincidentally, the day after I was able to claim the Pixel 8, I was visiting with some friends. Surprisingly, I discovered that two of them had the Google Pixel 7, and were both working towards getting the 8. This grabbed my attention since I would be receiving the 8 soon. They continued to talk very highly about the Google Pixel line, and even stated that the Pixel's were superior to both iPhone and Galaxy phones, as well as other android options. Especially, they said, if you enjoy quality photos.. I am a photography hobbyist, so this is important to me. I was even more excited at that time. I had never before heard much about the Pixels until recently, through online ads, and now my friends.
I received the Google Pixel 8 pretty quickly, to my surprise, and straight away, I confirmed that the camera was wonderful. The photos were very sharp, vivid, and clear. I don't see why any filter would ever need to be used. My favorite tool was the magic eraser. This is fantastic for when you accidentally include something, orr even someone, in the shot. The results so far when using the eraser are impressive.
Other awesome features of this phone are the materials used to make the phone are clearly of high quality and beautiful, the screen is so clear, and there are tons of security features that the Samsung line never had. It automatically screens unknown and suspicious phone calls! It's so fast. I used to spend so much time just waiting while the screen loaded, or waiting for downloads to complete, and even waiting for them to fully charge. In fact, I have always had to recharge at some point through the day, or my phone would die before dark.
The Google Pixel 8 loads quickly, has no trouble downloading, and supports both wireless ane fast charging. And it is very fast. It saves me so much time, and best of all, I don't have to recharge throughout the day. It usually gets me through until bedtime, with a little charge left over. Needless to say, I am a fan of Google Pixel now and will continue to use the Pixel 8 indefinitely, or until an upgrade is released!
Now that I've bragged on all the great things about this phone, I just include the not so great attributes as well. The reason I took off one star. I also just point out that these are negatives to me personally, and they are not negative enough to prevent me from using this phone, and they don't change the quality of it. I am a fan and I love this phone regardless.
So, one thing I didn't like is the size of the phone. I know now that the Pro would suit me better in size. Some people prefer a larger phone, like me. Others prefer a smaller, lower profile phone that they can put in their pockets, or, if a child is using it, the size of the Pixel 8 would be ideal. The fact that the Pixel 8 is at least 6.1"(6.2" with case), allows me to still love it, despite its smaller size. I suppose I actually understand and agree with the decision to size it at 6.1". The Pro is available for anyone that must have a larger phone. There needs to be a Google Pixel version in this size to accommodate the folks that desire this size.
Last, there is one thing that concerns me. I have noticed that it gets a little hot when using it for longer periods, and while using a wired charger. Not so hot that I'm afraid or feel like I'm in danger, but hot enough to notice the change and wonder if it will present a bigger problem at some point. I should mention though, it does get a little hot, but it seems, to me, that It cools down on its own after a short time. If you continue to use it, it seems to go through a cycle of hearing up and cooling down. As if some type of a cooling gadget is inside the phone! Lol
I highly recommend this phone. Both this one, and the Plus, depending upon your size preference. I actually believe I will stick to this line from now on. I'm sold!

elegant,convenient smartphone with modern design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super modern phone made from highly durable materials Google Pixel 8 with 128GB of storage is undoubtedly one of the best smartphones of modern times. The first thing I want to say is the design of the phone. I have never had a more convenient phone that was so pleasant to hold in my hand. The case has flagship protection against water and dust. Google Pixel 8 is made of brushed aluminum and has a 6.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080x2400. A good camera with the Magic Editor function allows you to completely change the composition and tone of the image. An undoubted advantage that distinguishes it from other smartphones is the Magic Eraser option, which removes unwanted objects from photos. It also has a bright display, good battery life, and fast charging speed. In 1 hour and 30 minutes, I charged the phone from 1% to 100%. I'm definitely happy to have this phone.

Absolutely loving this phone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Pixel 8 is the latest sub-flagship smartphone from Google, and the third iteration in the modern series of Pixel phones that use the Google-designed Tensor processor. The combination of those processor smarts and software finesse has never been better, and Google has really dialed in the fit and finish of its phones this year.
The big headline for me with the Pixel 8 is the new 50-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization. In my testing, Pixel 8 photos look far superior to those I can take with my Pixel 7 Pro from last year. Simply put, I have never seen smartphone photos that look this good. They are sharper, brighter, with more dynamic range and detail than any other smartphone camera I've used. See my attached pictures for examples.
And the photography fun doesn't stop when you click the shutter button. New for the Pixel 8 series is Google's Best Take feature, which uses the camera to take a burst of photos and allows you to choose the best facial expressions from all the different shots, composing group photos that look great, every time. Another new feature is Magic Editor, which uses cloud-based AI to help you do amazing things with Pixel photos. You can remove people and objects, rearrange things, increase the size of certain components in the shot, and Google AI intelligently fills in the background.
The things you can do with Pixel 8's camera are astounding, and Pixel 8 Pro can do even more (more on that later).
There are many other top reasons to choose Pixel 8, including:
• Google's version of Android, which is clean and perfectly integrated with other Google services.
• AI features, like call screening, live translate, and new AI wallpapers that put you in (some) control over what gets displayed behind your icons.
• The new version of Face Unlock, which uses just the front-facing camera to do a very secure scan of your facial features and can be set to skip the lock screen and get you right to work after you glance at the phone.
• Pixel 8 is an excellent small phone for people who love small phones. It's light and easy to use with one hand.
• The matte aluminum metal frame is really nice, and the power and volume buttons are perfectly clicky.
• The Pixel's rear camera bar keeps the phone from wobbling when lying on a table and provides a perfect place to rest your finger.
• The new 120Hz 1080p "Actua" display is super color accurate gets very bright.
• The Pixel 8 series comes with 7 years of operating system and security updates.
One very important thing to point out is that Pixel phones in general may be the best phones for kids. Google's Family Link app is incredibly useful and usable piece of software, and lets you set app and web permissions with an amazing level of granularity. Furthermore, with Pixel, you know you're getting the latest security updates to keep the phone up to date and less susceptible to hacking. You can get a Pixel 8 for yourself now and know that it will be ready for your kid to use in a year or two, and they can keep using for years after with security and O/S updates.
Things to know if you already have an older Pixel phone:
• Pixel 8 is an iterative upgrade. The main camera lens is way better, the Tensor 3 is a bit faster and more capable, and the 8-series exclusive features are really neat. Other than that, older Pixels are fine, and still get many of the great features of Android 14.
• Trade-in values for older Pixel phones were decent at launch, but quickly fell to pretty low, so consider your options when it comes to dealing with your old phone.
• The new setup process is a breeze, and as long as you have a recent backup, you can restore all your apps, SMS, MMS, and even your Authenticator account, all without your old phone nearby.
If you don't yet have a Pixel phone, get ready for the best version of Android, with lots and lots of Google's best ideas and AI expertise baked in. Also get ready for the best smartphone camera and editing tools. Finally, get ready to fall in love with Pixel.
There are also some drawbacks here:
• The Pixel 8 has the same processor as the Pixel 8 Pro, but gets fewer software features because Google wants to differentiate its top flagship product. I hope Google will amend this in a software update in the next 6 months or so (around when the Pixel 8a launches would be nice).
• The Pixel 8 doesn't do an amazing job with memory management, and despite its 8 GB of RAM, it aggressively closes background apps. In my experience, this happened to Pokemon Go when I tried to take a few photos. Google needs to improve this in a future update
• When used all day, battery life is just average. However, Google's Battery Saver and Extreme Battery Saver features work well if you need to keep your phone going with a depleted battery.
• The fingerprint reader is under the screen, and uses a bright light to visually match your fingerprint. I love it and have never had a problem using it,

Amazing camera quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am new to the Google pixel phones as I use Android but I've been a Samsung user. My brother has a pixel phone and I've always noticed what great quality photos I get from him. This phone takes amazing pictures whether it's bright or dark outside it captures it perfectly without it looking blurry or pixelated. I definitely prefer Android setup over apple as it's just easier to maneuver and the flow just works better. The phone was easy to set up connected with my buds and my Beats super easy. The processing on this phone is very smooth and I find no lag whatsoever. Since I use Google services for a lot of things, it effortly connected to all those services. The things I look for in a phone is capacity ,speed and most quality photos and I got to say this takes the best photos I've seen yet . There are so many options to edit them as well I'm definitely a google pixel customer now.

Great phone and better camera!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Never had a google phone before and it took a while getting used to but it is not to bad to navigate. Very comparable to the newer iphones and much cheaper. Only bad side is the phone feels really small compared to Android but makes up with the high quality photos and screen it has. The camera is flawless and has so much edits to get the perfect picture, though it doesn't have extreme zoom in, the pictures comes out better than expected. Overall I am getting used to the phone and judging by the slick OLED and processor this phone doesn't skip a beat. Much improvement from the past google phones and if your looking for quality this phone has it.

One of the better Google Pixel’s I’ve encountered!
on December 4, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent the 128 GB Google Pixel 8 to review. It is packaged nicely with a USB converter. The screen size is 6.2 inches, which is smaller than the Pixel 7.
Upon turning on the phone, you are given the option of transferring content from another phone, this includes an iPhone option which was perfect being that I am an iPhone user. The setup and installation was simple and straight to the point. There is a fingerprint and password option for a more secured device. The stereo speakers are loud and clear. I’ve noticed that AI plays a huge role in this phone which is awesome for the busy person with a live translator, which makes it easy for translating while traveling. It comes equipped with a front and back camera, which takes pretty good pics. One con that I noticed was that the phone can get extremely overheated when there are several apps open so be mindful of that. Nonetheless So far so good and I would certainly recommend this phone to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never used a google pixel before. It feels like a flagship phone but its a bit heavier than my old sony xperia. This is a great android phone with an awesome camera. My hands tend to shake and I'm not able to hold the phone still when taking pictures but the camera was still able to capture pictures without the blurriness from my old phone.

Great Android Phone!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hello Pixel 8 - I've been a Pixel user for years now, hopping from a Pixel 2 to a Pixel 6 and now a Pixel 8. Will be comparing this Pixel 8 more with my current Pixel 6. The Pixel 8 is a lighter Android, a smartphone that has Wireless Charging, With Fast Charging, With OLED Display, (and a newer feature to me) is "Water Resistant". The front facing camera has a higher resolution as well, which I find useful as well. Another new camera feature is the Telephoto, which makes my zoom photos more clear in quality and has the same Ultra Wide option which I loved with the Pixel 6. I'm also not sure how waterproof it is, as Pixel 6 supposedly has waterproof glass, and it didn't really state that for this Pixel 8, but has that water resistant feature. It's easy to use, with the navigation similar to my older Pixel 6, which makes it so easy to shift to. I prefer this size as well vs the Pixel 6 size. So far using it has been great, my only comment is that it's been glitchy with the connection between my Spotify app and the Android Auto in my car, but it may be an Android 14 issue. Otherwise, I'm so happy with this upgrade! Thank you for the opportunity to try this, Google and Influenster!
