How long should a spool last?

I really like this trimmer's battery life,power, weight, etc. but it burns through a spool of line in no time. Admittedly I don't have much experience with weed wackers - how long should a spool last? And is it only supposed to release more line when you press the button? Because I am not pressing the button and it still eats up the line.

This varies from user to user. Other factors like the type of grass being cut may affect this as well.

Good edger but.....

Bought this edger because of automatice string dispenser. It dispenses more line but it breaks often. About every foot I am hitting the dispense button. Is there a stronger string available. Frustrated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We apologize for any inconveniences you have been caused.The spool line is made of a biodegradable material so that it easily breaks down without impacting the environment. This makes the spools of line very delicate and in extreme weather situations, the line will begin to melt and fuse together. Based on your description you may need a new pack of spools. Shaft loose and can not keep tight

So Convenient

Great tool

I bought this blower for my parents that are older so they needed something lighter and easier to use. I was disappointed that the battery that came with this is not like the other battery's that they have for their worx trimmer, there is no button to push that shows the battery level, seems a lot cheaper?

The one with the battery indicator light is model WA3575 and the one without is model WA3525. The WA3525 is the standard 2.0Ah 20 volt battery.
