Great lock if you don’t need wifi

The fingerprint and codes work well. But the WiFi won’t work on our modern WiFi. Yale says it requires a 2.4GHz network. Our WiFi router says it supports 2.4 or 5 GHz. We have lots of 2.4 GHz devices in our network. They all work. But not the Yale lock with built in WiFi module.

This thing guzzles batteries like there's no tomorrow and the plastic bits feel flimsy. Oh! It's a headache to change the batteries. And the relevant Help/FAQ content is poor. All in all, this is like something from Temu or similar. Yale used to have a good reputation, but this product comes across as the result of laziness, incompetence and greed.

The Assure Lock 2 Touch is really nice. It's the 3rd type of smart lock I've purchased, and the best by far. My only complaint is the programming instructions could stand to be better for sure. You need some skill to figure them out. Once you do, it works great, and is a high quality lock.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Assure 2 gets hot and had burnt smell

Going through ridiculous retun process for weeks over multiple locks that get hot to the touch when batteries are inserted. Thought it was a one off but now have more. Support is saying they didn't get the right info now when they want serials numbers they already have for locks I've already returned.

Loses wifi connection

Worked great for a couple months then lost it's wifi connection from remote locations. Fix is to remove battery and reinstall it. That does not work.

Was okay until it stopped working

I bought this lock based off of looks and features. Installation was pretty straightforward. However, getting it synced with my WiFi and phone was a pain. Once set up, it seemed to function as advertised. One thing that I never read about in any review was how fast it chews thru batteries! A set of 4 AA lasts about 3 weeks. That got expensive pretty quick! Fast forward to about 3 months after their warranty expired and this lock has stopped working. The whole electronic portion is useless. The mechanical portion is still operational so it looks like until I can replace the whole new unit, I’m back to carrying a set of keys. Disappointing!
