Honestly not as good as I thought. It runs about the same as my old HP omen pc, although the specs should be better. Also this pc is liable to shutdown randomly on you when gaming.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We do understand your disappointment with the laptop and the inconvenience this may haveif you are having slow system speed issue with the laptop.
If you are experiencing slow speed, please check if WIndows, drivers, BIOS and applications are up to date. Updates for the laptop are posted at: https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-scar-17-2023-series/helpdesk_download/. Keeping the laptop updated will maintain optimum system stability and performance. Furthermore, while accessing games or web applications, please make sure the unit has access to an established router and internet service is working properly since poor and unstable internet connection will affect system stability and performance. If these steps were performed to no avail, please try to run a diagnostics or optimization test using the "MyASUS" utility software or application. If this is not pre-installed on the laptop, please download the application at the Microsoft Store. For details on how to use "My ASUS", please go to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1041686/.

Powerful, and cool! So far it runs like a dream, it stays cool and games are smooth. My wife got a dell game laptop recently and it has been a nightmare. This is my second ROG gaming laptop and 5/5 both times.

This laptop with the new, high-end AMD mobile processor and Nvidia 4080 has turned out to be a great option. I'd previously tried the MSI Raider 77HX and 78HX high-end laptops but ran into stuttering in game because of power limits. I've never experienced that with this laptop and it runs AAA games smoothly at ultra settings. It is the quietest and coolest laptop I've owned. It feels like a quality build and has a nice screen and keyboard. I like the port options. My only critical feedback is related to the size and weight of the charger and the performance options in The Armoury Crate really don't seem to impact gaming performance.
