This operating system is very fast. Fingerprint logon is very convenient and fast. The display is a great size and the colors, contrast and sharpness are excellent. It's not heavy or bulky. Keyboard response is virtually ideal and makes typing a breeze. It was easy to set-up despite the third party file transfer software, which I will attempt to avoid or circumvent next time. It charges relatively fast. Don't know if it comes in black. If so, get black. Silver makes it difficult to see the keys, sometimes, in bright lighting. This is a wonderful laptop at a reasonable price.
Love it! Everything I expected. I was specifically looking for a laptop with a metal body (too many damaged plastic laptops) and a lighted keyboard. This ENVY has both. Seems a little low on storage, but hopefully it will be fine. After using it for a few weeks I have only one complaint... The <delete> key is in the far upper right corner of the keyboard, right next to the Power key which is identical, very easy to mistake it.
My son needed a laptop, so I decided to give him my 2-3 year old Dell Inspiron, and I'll purchase this HP ENVY x360. I'm glad I did.
This laptop was a great improvement over my old one. Even at 240 nits, it has a very clear screen. When I received it, it had just 2 x 4GB memory sticks and a 250GB M.2 SSD and it ran very smoothly then.
Since then, I upgraded to 32GB with 2 x 16GB and 1TB M.2 NVME SSD.
(For your information, this laptop, according to another website, can take up to 64GB of Total Memory.)
As you know, the specifications for this laptop doesn't list the capacities for this laptop. The great thing is that at least the memory and M.2 drive is upgradable. The CPU is not! I have to ask myself, is HP and other PC manufacturer's, really saving money by using BGA CPU over consumer/technician replaceable CPU's? I would think that replaceable CPU's would add to overall profits for the industry.
This does have a touch screen, which I really don't use right now.
The sound is pretty good for a laptop.
With the Fingerprint Scanner, logging into Windows 11 is very fast, probably making me lazy to enter a pin, if I had to.
This is very fast, responsive machine and I'm very happy with it.
For those that are still debating to make the purchase, because of the lack of specification information, I hope that the info given above will help you make the deal.
It's a good machine. The only problem I have is trying to reverse the use of the fn keys, and so far everything I've tried hasn't worked. Nothing on the website has helped, so I'm stuck using the external keyboard all the time, which affects where I can use this laptop. Otherwise, I'm satisfied.
I am not happy with the performance even though it's a high-end model. Here are my complaints:
performance: 1. windows 11 is choppy, to be precise the animations and the UI is slow, and you can experience a lag 2. Especially when you connect it to a monitor the lag is even more. Even my five-year-old laptop does not have this problem
fan noise: 1. The fans keep on spinning even though there are few applications running. It's just annoying. This happens again more frequently when connected to an external monitor
pen and writing: Not so happy in this department as well. There are constant mis touches that are happening which result in applications closing etc.
