Fantastic product, only improvement would be a direction indicator when trying to locate a nearby tag. (But I'm pretty sure that's a limitation of the underlying tech)
It works, it's very slow to update location, and sometimes it takes more than 2 hours to update location even in very crowded areas. No history of location is available, I don't know who's fault if Chipolo or Google network, but that's my experience so far, having said that I don't see many use cases other than track objects that will be static for a very long time.
No problem locating the tag via Bluetooth, with graphical proximity indication and a loud beep. People have reported difficulties with remote location using Android Find My Device FMD. For me it worked if I set the location to "with network in all areas", so it was detected even by a single Android phone with FMD installed. Tested on my easyJet hold bag on a flight to the UK, and across London. Works much better than expected.
Works great. I sewed the tag into the lining on my camera bag. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I can find my camera bag if it was ever lost or stolen.
Works as described and they are nice and simple! The only annoying thing was the packaging: it felt wasteful to throw away so much material for 4 small trackers with duplicative instructions and everything.
I expected much better. Tried these off and on for a few months, including a vacation to a different country, and rarely received an accurate placement on the map, except if they are home. I don't the issue is necessarily these devices, rather than the network. Maybe the areas I'm using it are predominantly iphone users, or maybe it's because Google really neutered the network right off the bat, I don't know, but at this moment, I can't recommend these at all. I really do hope the network is improved.
