[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You know what you are getting with an X1 Carbon. Its not the most stylish laptop in my opinion, but its a workhorse that is solidly built. Do I wish they expanded color offerings and additional shell textures or patterns? Yes - but at the end of the day this is a business machine. As a former user of the X1 Yoga series I feel at home and while I miss the 2 in 1 element, there is savings in multiple ways both physical and monetarily.
I appreciate the extra screen brightness an extra 100nits makes a difference when you go to a cheaper machine with an inferior screen. Keyboard 'feels' just right. The docking stations are pricey but packed with features and available cheaper through other vendors and sources.

This machine performs exceptionally well, is light and has no features like posture monitoring that I value. The display, camera, microphone and speakers are all noticeably improved, as is the processing power and speed

I am satisfied with its tech specs, especially the processer, operating system, graphic card, memory, and storage. It functions smoothly with multitasks. I hope to use it at least 4-5 years. The battery life is good so far. Not sure if it will degrade substantially after using 1 or 2 years. Other series of Lenovo laptops are bad with their battery life. After I made some recommended Windows updates after using it around 3 days, ironically, this laptop no longer worked with my old 4k E-edge monitor. After having a phone call with a tech specialist, the conclusion is to buy a new monitor that is compatible with my updated laptop. If without this incident, I would be much happier with this purchase. Lenovo customer service is very supportive though.
