Not worth the money

I studied business so I wanted a computer that ran Windows. I bought the X1 Carbon with 4k and all the bells and whistles for around $2,600. This computer is not worth that much. It feels, performs, and looks like a sub $1,000 laptop. Using it on a daily basis for school, work, and personal use is a nightmare. The touch pad is horrible. Half the time when the screen turns on the camera fails to open for face recognition, and I have to manually put in my pin. The camera quality itself is HORRENDOUS. This is the 2020s Lenovo, people work from home and use their camera, figure it out. My 2015 Macbook has a better camera... I constantly get glitches with my external audio sources when using Teams. And there are just random glitches in general that you just don't get when using a Macbook. The resale value for these is also horrible. Overall I made a mistake with this purchase and I will no doubt be going back to Apple.

Fast and Light Windows Laptop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know why the product title keeps defaulting to Linux, but I have a windows machine. I'm redoing this review because my first one wasn't given credit in my rewards account. I was looking for a fast and light computer with long battery life for travel and this fits the bill perfectly. My only real complaint is the unintuitive positioning of the ctrl and fn keys. Even after I swapped them in the software, I still found myself frequently hitting the wrong key because I'm a sight typist about half the time. I was able to mostly resolve the issue by relabeling the keys with a label maker. I also turned off the privacy guard because it made the edges of the screen too dark, and tweaked the resolution settings from the default. My rating is really more like 4.5 stars. Would definitely recommend it if portability is more important to you than screen size.
