[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 3 weeks, I'm quite pleased with the purchase. It's a refurb and I'm anxious to know how the it will hold up. It a replaces a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 (version approximate).
The sound is quite good. Performance is great.
The keyboard has a slightly different layout that seems quite useful in comparison to other laptops. My laptop experience isn't extensive, but I judge the travel of the keys to be quite short, quiet, and crisp. I'm enjoying it.
The display is sharp and attractive and has a matte finish.
The hinges do feel quite up to the job of rotating through 359 degrees a few times a day. I typically open/close it only once a day to use it in tent mode. This is another area in which time will tell.
so far, I enjoy my new ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8 Intel (14”) - Storm Grey. What I miss in this Lenovo - backlight keyboard and possibility to downgrade Win 11 to Win 10.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mobile workhorse! This is the business evolution of the beloved Yoga consumer series. Doubles down as a business machine, but also great as a personal laptop. Only complaint, is that there is no option for fingerprint login when connected to the docking station with the screen closed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Computer came with a problem on the screen. They did not have a new one to replace so i got my refund - but no computer
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to buy a new Laptop since my HP Spectre crapped out after 2 years, I usually buy Lenovo but the HP had what I wanted at the time. The X1 carbon that the HP replaced is still going strong as my Hobby room computer, I should have stuck to Lenovo which had a proven track record with me, live and learn. The new ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 8 blows them both away. I was convertinging my wife's home video's from VHS to digital. I had to piece some of them together and then rendered them for the final video. I rendered the first couple on my old X1 Carbon. I started just capturing them on the X1 Carbon and switched the rendering to the new X1 Yoga. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the New X1 was performing the rendering about 3 times faster. Since getting the new one set up and updated it also boots faster and I thought the old one already booted quickly. Time will tell about the overall performance, but it seems with the little use I have given it in Photoshop that I can have more photo's open with out it slowiing or locking up the program. So far I am extremely happy with it and it was the first time I was able to order one already premade with almost eveythng I wanted. If I had ordered it the only change may have been to add the OLED display. But am not unhappy with the WUXGA display. In fact as far as Lenovo reliability goes I had one from 2014 that I gave to charity and another from 2015 that went to my aunt, both are still working fine. I trust this one will hold up as well. I have had 2 in 1's since 2013 and have found (as a non gamer) that these do everything and more that I would ever want from a computer. My wife has a Yoga 900 and keeps many windows open, extends her screen to an old TV and it handles the extra workload with no problems. I will be sticking to Lenovo from now on.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the price, I am not impressed. Battery time, even with everything off, is just 3-4 hours. The down arrow key was sticking out the gate and there seemed to be a small scratch on the screen. I did not buy a refurb but it seemed like it.
