We had our own platform, so we just used the outer bed frame. This bed works very well for our purpose and looks good.

Took about hr n 15 to get together for me and my hubs doing it together .
This is set tho the “high” setting and it’s still low , did a 6inch mattress , it’s for a 4yr olds room so didn’t need to be high , you could definitely do a box spring for height but not needed if u like the look, maybe just get a 12inch mattress

Wish headboard was higher

Great bed, sturdy but at the higher mattress setting you hardly see the headboard over the pillow shams. Was pretty easy to put together.
