A Real Powerhouse!

So, I've been using the Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 Intel (16") with RTX 4070 mainly for my software gigs, and I've gotta say, it's been a solid performer. Sometimes I do a bit of gaming too, so I wanted something that could handle both without breaking a sweat. Haven't boosted the RAM to 64GB yet, but that's on my to-do list.
This laptop is seriously speedy. I used to worry about my laptop keeping up with my work, but this thing just gets it done, no questions asked. And it's been smooth sailing, no hiccups whatsoever. Plus, the fact that it's so quiet is a bonus – no noisy distractions.
I've gotta give props to the keyboard – it's surprisingly good for a laptop. And they've really sorted out the cooling; this baby doesn't overheat even when I've got a bunch of things running. The ports are in all the right places too, which is super handy for my setup. And that touchpad? It's on point.
Now, the fancy RGB lights are cool, no doubt. But I'm more of a low-key vibe, so I usually keep those off. Still, you can mess around with them if you're into that. Also, the laptop looks and feels pretty tough, like it can take a beating.
But here's the scoop: it's kinda hefty, so don't expect it to be a featherweight. And man, that charger? It's a chunky beast. I actually had to grab another one 'cause lugging it between home and the office was getting old. And let's not ignore the dent in the wallet that comes with it – that thing ain't cheap, and it's a whopping 300W.
Oh, and one more thing – the outside loves fingerprints. Seriously, if you're OCD about smudges, it might bug you a bit. And if I'm being nitpicky, the bottom part of the case has more bend than I'd prefer.
In a nutshell, this Legion Pro 7i gets a thumbs up from me. It's quick as lightning, reliable as your old faithful hoodie, and stays quiet while it's at it. Sure, it's a tad on the heavy side, and that charger could use a diet, but if you're after a workhorse with a gaming streak, it's a solid choice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pros:
Buttery Smooth Gaming
4090 Version Comes with the USB 4 which allows for the best docking options
Lots of USB for Peripherals
Screen Quality is the best I've seen from a laptop
Lenovo Vantage gives easy selection of onboard/nvidia GPU options and wasy overlocking of GPU
Cons:
Fan is quite loud
Finish shows finger prints heavily
Overall, the strongest gaming laptop that I have used yet and very happy with the purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just wow! I was looking to buy a replacement for my desktop (1080ti 11gb with 32gb of RAM and i7-8700k) as I am editing 4:2:2 10 bit pro res videos a lot and was falling behind on performance having to always create proxies for a good workflow.
Of course I am also a gamer so I didn't want to compromise on that end either. This is where my research ended on the Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 with a 4080 inside. WHAT A POWERFUL MACHINE. Absolutely no stutter when playing back videos on my timeline which make for an incredible workflow. My games are running smooth never lower than 60 fps for really demanding stuff. The cooling is great which was the worst issue when it came to choosing a Laptop, tried the XPS 15 from dell and it was overheating just while downloading software. My Legion has great airflow and keeps the temp at a great level. Very convenient!
The only small thing is that there are no SD card reader even though it's the thicker model, the slim model has it so it's kind of a bummer but not the end of the world
