Works perfectly on our small yard. Ordered an extra 20 in.blade but it didn't have the right pattern to fit the hub on the motor.

Wonderful little mower

I bought this as a bagging mower to "harvest nutrients" from the lawn and make compost. It is powerful, quiet, it bags OK (fairly small capacity bag), and mulches well when the bag is full. Since we are avid gardeners, we don't have much grass. I love being able to leave it out, mow with the touch of a button, and not worry about gas, oil, or noise.

Freedom from the electrical cord!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am thrilled with my purchase of this battery powered mower. I have been using the corded version for over 3 years and was pleased with its performance. However the purchase of an adjoining lot would mean using a very long electrical cord so I opted to buy the battery-powered version. I am very pleased with my new mower. It was very easy and quick to go from the box to using the mower The instructions for assembling were easy to follow. The first job I did was to mulch fallen leaves and the mulch cover was very useful. The battery charged quickly and lasted for the expected time. Having the second battery meant I had the job finished in a little under an hour. I am very glad I chose this mower and looking forward to many seasons of use.

Problems within a month of use

I bought this about a month and a half back. Initially it worked great for a couple of times I used it to mow my lawn which is somewhere between 1/4 to 1/2 of an acre. However, by the 3rd week, I noticed reduced battery life and after 6 weeks the battery just dies after 10 minutes of use. I mow the lawn once a week so its not even very thick grass. I don't know if the problem is with the lawn mower or the batteries.

Hello FSAH,
We are sorry to hear about the experience you have encountered with this battery. The overall battery life is dependent on many factors such as where they have been stored, charged, and handled. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. It is recommended to store the battery with a full charge, and if it is being stored for a period where no use is expected, to check on the charge every couple of months. If you notice the charge has dropped, we advise charging the battery back up to full before returning it to its safe storage place. Following these steps will ensure you receive the most of the battery life. Please know that our batteries are covered by the manufacturer's warranty as stated in the owner’s manual period from the date of purchase. Should you continue to experience a problem with the battery and charger, simply contact Greenworks at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the battery and charger so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Dear Kyle2023,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this product. We are concerned to read that you are feeling let down and that the unit has not fully met your expectations. Our 24V line is ideal for light-duty work. The higher the voltage on a product, the more power you will receive and the heavier job you'll be able to tackle. With a higher voltage does come a higher price point but depending on your workload, it may be necessary. Not only does it make the job easier, but it is safer to use the right tool for the job.
Here are a few tips to extend your run time!
1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.
5) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed. Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels.
We hope these tips help! If there is anything we can do to help improve your experience, please let us know; we can reached directly through chatbot on www.greenworkstools.com that will direct you to a live agent or call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the most lightweight mower I've ever used that still has good pick up. Only needed 1 4AH battery to mow 1/3 acre.
