Great Concept, needs some refinement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw and the first day out I immediatly noticed several issues/quirks:
1. The chain. We spend more time the first 2 hours putting the chaing back on rather than cutting. We have the 12" chainsaw of which is AMAZING so we were excited for the pole saw...definityly NOT the same quality of saw. We work with chainsaws all the time and that chain just won't stay on no matter how tight we adjusted the tensioner...all the other saws worked great out of the box, but not this one!
2.The connections on the pole are not very strong and the spring button holding it together fell out and I lost it. The saw has a tendancy to twist when cutting making it hard to saw through items over your head. Also the saw it heavier that anticipated...about the same as a gas powered saw.
3.Starting seems to be tempermental....imaging your up on the ladder, reaching the 12-14 foot up ready to cut, so you pull the trigger and the saw won't start? Happend several times to the point of being annoying.
Maybe we dont a lemon...we will be contacting the customer service under the "warranty" to see if this maybe the case. We will update the review accordingly along the way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Bonus68.
Thank you for the detailed review. We are sorry to hear of the issues have experienced when using the 80V 10" pole saw.
Here you will find a few operational tips in the hopes they provide a better user experience.
When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert for spring back. When the tension in
the wood fibers are released the spring loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the
pole saw out of control.
New chain tends to stretch; and it is recommend to check chain tension frequently. Chain tensioned while warm may be too tight upon cooling. Check the “cold tension” before next
use. Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing accessories. Improperly
tensioned or lubricated chain may either break or increase the chance for kickback.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The saw end is a little heavier than I thought it would be, That being said, I am a female with not much upper body muscle, but I was able to use the saw for several hours. Seems to have good battery life. I would buy again and recommend to a friend.
Pros: Convenient, Effective, Powerful
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this pole saw to a friend's house to trim an overgrown tree that threatened the neighbors fence. We were totally surprised how well it cut through the branches. Everyone kept asking me what brand it was.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Chain popped off a couple of times. Easy to reinstall and tighten up. Cuts great with plenty of power. The shoulder strap is a must Vince this tool is a bit on the heavy side.
Pros: Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Pretty good but not perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice trimmer pole saw combo. Could have made the pole attached to the battery and tool shorter for normal height trimming and cutting and make the extension pole a little longer. It's a little clumsy and a little heavy but not too bad. Could have included a harness support strap. Did a nice job cutting.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Effective, Powerful

Chain saw?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I enjoy the equipment I purchased. The chain saw part of this buy is not as sturdy as I hoped. The chain will often fall off of the bar even when using it lightly.
Pros: Convenient, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksJuly 5, 2024
Hello Mike Shiflett.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have experienced an issue with the chain not staying on. New chains tend to stretch; so be sure to check the chain tension frequently and tension as required. However, be sure to never tension a warm chain before storing as chains shrink when cooling and this can damage the chain, bar, and saw. Please ensure that when you remove the side cover that the following parts are there and in order: sprocket (chain wheel), chain wheel washer and finally the c-lip. These parts are imperative when it comes to keeping the chain on. Please note that this product carries a 4-year warranty on the tool and battery from the date of purchase. Wearable parts carry a 90-day warranty against wear and tear. If you notice any of these parts missing or you are still experiencing issues we recommend you to contact with us by Chat on www.greenworkstools.com or by phone at 1-855-345-3934. We would like the opportunity to help you better.

Excveeded my expectations!

2 years ago I bought a Greenworks 18" chain saw and was delighted at how well it worked, so I thought I would give this polesaw a chance. I am 80 years old, and have a small physique. Due to health problems last year, I don't have the upper body strength and stamina that I had before. I was afraid this pole saw would be too heavy for me but once I got the strap adjusted right I had no trouble. It cuts thru thick branches very quickly and easily, and is much quicker, safer and easier than trying to use a chainsaw on a stepladder. Highly recommended.

Just received my 80V 10" pole saw today. I cut around 40 2" to 4" branches off of my 70 year old pine trees. This thing works great. I'm 55 years old and after 40 branches I needed to take a break so I popped out the 2.5ah battery and stuck it in my 16" chain saw that I also received today and cut a ton of brush. I then took the battery out of the saw and put it in the string trimmer that I received yesterday and trimmed up my back yard for about a half hour. I still had one bar left on the battery after using all three tools.
Pros: Convenient, Quiet, Durable, Effective, Powerful
