I have bought a Carbon X1 or equivalent every year since the Thickpads were made by IBM. Now I have to buy two every year because 50% of them either don't work reliably or fail entirely before a year elapses. The battery died on one of the two I bought in 2022, and it will not even boot up with the power adapter attached - lost everything that wasn't backed up. If any other manufacturer offered buttons with the touchpad I would switch in a heartbeat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The actual display screen is only 11+inches NOT 14 inches.

My several years older ThinkPad worked great but somehow I dropped it and broke the screen. The new one looks just like it but it greatly improved. For one thing my new ThinkPad is lightning fast compared to my last one. The fingerprint reader is super responsive. I love my Think Pad because of size, weight, and it supports all the programs I need at the age of 81! My son sat it up for me and I use it for reading, paying all my bills, gmail to keep up with family/friends, ordering on line, pictures, and more. I make myself a cup of coffee every morning and the sit down to drink it with my ThinkPad to read the newspaper and messages from friends. Perfect for me!
