[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before receiving this set, we weren’t aware of how massive it was. It was moderately challenging and at well over 2000 pieces it took as a couple days to fully assemble. As we neared the end we noticed that the gears responsible for moving the front half weren’t aligned correctly so we did a bit of backtracking to correct it. Overall it was a fun build and the scale of final product is very impressive.

Pokémon moving build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon receiving the item we were extremely excited to get started on this massive build. The box quality and packaging is really done well. The manual was bigger then I expected and I liked the way that a lot of numbered bags were used to keep the piles of parts smaller for each section of the products booklet. Once I started opening the bags it was really exciting to see how it would turn out, with a variety of building techniques and degrees of difficulty it kept the experience interesting. With no way to build it in one sitting it made for a great way to keep me busy for hours a day for a week! Some of the build was a bit on the advanced side which is good to keep them challenged. Some of the instructions were difficult to see where the piece belonged or if it was a moving part it had to be placed just right to allow it too work smoothly. Once the build was finished it looked and worked great. The colors are great, and the display factor compared to other builds makes it more appealing to look at. We love the subject matter of this build and like to spin the handle to make it move. The movement brings such life to this toy and a whole different level to building toys, which I hope to see more of. It sits on our table for anyone who stops over to give it a try, and it looks great in all settings, either in our building block display case or even on the coffee table. We can easily move it out of the way to use the table. It would be amazing to see a whole collection of this product all together on one display.

Good quality but need clearer directions

Definitely good quality product but the directions should be more clear. As we continue to build it looks nice and we are happy with the result we are getting but definitely takes time to build

Discouraging

Purchased this for my son who’s a Pokémon fanatic. He got to the point of attaching the front and back together and we tried the gears to make sure it worked. At a certain point the crank had resistance and a gear popped out. Figuring he may not have assembled something correctly, I undid the pieces and rebuilt it myself. When we got to the same point of assembling the head with the body, the exact same thing happened. After many days and hours wasted, it’s not complete and we are discouraged. This toy set us back quite a bit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 12 yr old loves this toy! It took him a couple of nights to build, but he enjoyed putting it together. He loves the action features (the waves move along with his tail and neck/mouth). He also likes the name plates in different languages.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son enjoyed building this Mega Unboxed Motion Gyarados, it took my son about 3 hours, and even though there were some issues he was still able to build it and enjoy the final results. as of now he tells me that it is one of the best sets he’s ever built. Now he’s constantly asking for more sets because he enjoyed building it that much. In the past he has had a set from a competitor brand, but it was too hard for him and he did not enjoy it, and did not enjoy building it, and he was never able to finish it. Even though the box says it’s for 12+ I’m pretty sure that kids from 10-12 can build it with a little help. The final gyarados is sitting on shelf because my son is very proud of his work and shows it off to everyone.

Fun building set!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this set on a Friday and it was done by Monday. My 12 year old son loved it. Once he started it, he wanted to finish it. It is a difficult set, I had to help him with a couple of assembly parts. He likes the movement of this set, and all the geara inside the set make the dragon move smoothly. Its a manual turn system. There were a LOT of bags. 21 bags total. I would say each bag took him about 20 minutes to assemble. Overall a fun toy that kept him engaged the entire weekend.

We are still working on this awesome project because my child needs some adult help with it. Great project for a rainy day but know it will be worth it once it is finished! The product has labeled bags and very detailed picture instructions.
