HP is my go-to brand in laptops. I haven't had this particular Envy model very long, but so far I'm very pleased with it. This is my second laptop with the 17.3" touch screen and that feature is a must for me, I'm too spoiled to go back to a smaller screen. As with any upgrade in laptops, there are some differences but I've found them easy to adapt to. Windows 11 didn't do well on my previous HP so had to go back to 10; but it's great on this new laptop.
HP makes reasonably priced, long lasting laptop computers. I purchased my last one in 2013 and it recently started going into lockdown, so I purchased a new one. This is my second HP laptop and my first one lasted a long time as well.
The keyboard has stopped working twice, which has required unloading the keyboard driver and restarting the computer at inconvenient times. I understand that this may be a Windows 11 problem, not an HP problem. Otherwise the laptop is great.
I really like the laptop. It feels and look sleek and has great specs. I am giving 4 stars because the speakers are on the bottom of the laptop and the sound is muffled a bit. Otherwise great laptop.
I replaced my HP 15 inch laptop with this model. There is nothing to ENVY. One simple example is the location of the on/off switch - small, tiny, hard to see/read and located left of center in the top row. Without going to 125% enlargement, it's very hard to read the small print. It is filled with lots of junk from various makers especially Microsoft trying to sell/rent you their 365 program which continually pops up saying you have 3 days left until Excel, word , pwr pt etc disappear while the HP brochure says you can keep Excel, Word for free.
Lots of popups continually with junk - I have only spent a few days wasting time trying to figure everything out and it took quite a while to download info from my older HP.
Unit isn't slim or light than my 15 inch. Keyboard letters are light blue and very hard to read. This really isn't a laptop it's really a big table top. The plastic on the transformer was hard to remove and the parts you couldn't remove were badly scratched.
