Excellent choice, battery only lasts about 3 hours though, would have preferred to be able to choose a higher cell battery as an additional option, but overall I love the Envy. Shipping took a while but it was a custom order, so I can't complain.
The computer works as it should be. I immediately removed McAfee because nobody needs it but all computer manufacturers include it for financial reasons. I installed on it SQL Server 2012 and it works fine. The only problem I encountered with it the WiFi connection that sometimes doesn't appear at least not immediately. I had no similar problem with Windows 10 machines on the same network.
Still learning the laptop. It's really the first laptop I've owned. I do like it at this point, however. It would be nice if you sent a hard copy manual with it since it did not have one. Maybe I'll do another review later.
This is a significant upgrade from my old laptop. It is very fast, the screen is extremely vivid and I find the keyboard easy to use and very functional. It more than meets all my needs. I'm getting used to the touch-screen and find that I am enjoying that feature.
Got off to a bit of a rough start because some software issues arose on my fairly expensive new laptop. In this instance, in addition to the purchase price for something you should reasonably expect to work flawlessly when it arrives, I had to pay extra for HP Smartfriend service to fix a problem with the core operating system - not third party software that I'd installed. They did get it fixed after doing all the steps I'd done on my own plus, finally, reinstalling the operating system. I have been very happy with the last three HP laptops I've purchased but this experience fell waaay short. Please improve your Quality Control so your products work flawlessly when we first turn them on. Hardware, software or otherwise, this glitch was your fault not mine and I shouldn't have to pay extra to make it work right out of the box.
