I needed a new laptop for grad school and after months of searching and comparing I decided on the Envy. So incredibly glad I did! It does everything I need and doesn't even have to think about it. It is quiet, responsive, and the size of the screen is perfect for me. My one complaint is that it is a little heavy, wouldn't want to cart it with me everywhere, but again, the size of the screen is worth the added weight.

With the help of HP chat assistant I selected the HP Envy 17-cr1797nr. It is perfect for me. I use the computer mostly for editing photograhy and genealogy work. If you needa new laptop, working with an HP respresentive is the greatest option to get what you need.

This is my 2nd Envy 17.3" Laptop. Improvements include power button change, power connection changed to Mirco USB-C and 5V, and functionality with OS is better than the prior unit. Cons include lack of CD/DVD-RW Drive. Overall a great unit.

I purchased 2 for my twin daughters, I have one that upon opening and setting up the sound didn't work and now when we tried to restart, the laptop won't come on at all. Not something that should be happening with a brand new laptop. Also, I never received the emails with the care plan info and it is impossible to find a # number to call customer service/tech support.
