Was cautious about buying due to bad reviews

I have never written a review before but felt completed to do so. I was very hesitant to keep this rack that my wife bought. All of the issues I read from the bad reviews are operator error. I blame Thule as well for lack of description in their instructions. The RACK SHOULD NEVER FALL OFF YOUR VEHICLE!!!! If the rack is put on correctly it will never fall off. The keys lock and unlock the knobs to tighten and loosen the knobs. Once the knobs are tighten the key is turned to keep people from stealing them or keeping them from backing off during transportation. All of the issues that people had were just inexperienced people using the product. I have had Thule racks for years and would highly resort them. Thule would never let engineering put out a product that has the issues that I have read on line. The reason I gave it four stars is because we haven't taken it on the road yet. We plane on it in 3 weeks and it will be fine from the test run in our driveway.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Live this rack vs the tray rack I owned from a competitor. This one is much easier to install and load my bikes on, really like the integrated lock.

Don’t waste your time

Package came in three separate pieces. Items arrived damaged, and I had to pay someone to take the trash to the dump. The construction materials were subpar. There are many other bike carriers out there of much higher quality at a third the price.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for reaching out. The Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 ships with some assembly required as the size of the fully-constructed carrier would make it far more difficult to ship.
I am sorry yours arrived damaged. According to the warranty claim submitted, the rack was completely replaced free of charge.

Great rack but doesn’t fit factory installed hitch

This is a great rack. But it isn’t compatible with the factory-installed hitch receiver in my 2021 Outback. The lever pin mechanism (rather than the usual bolt) that goes through the rack and the receiver, doesn’t work on my factory installed receiver on my 2021 Outback. So the premium rack is totally unusable with that car, now, which was only evident after I bought both and tried to use the rack on the car. Disappointing that the product literature isn’t clearer about whether the rack will work with factory installed receiver on a fairly ubiquitous car.

I'm sorry the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 did not fit your vehicle. Thule hitch-mounted bike racks are designed to fit the industry standards for tow hitches, most of which have a "hitch pin hole" depth of 1.5 inches.
The hitch you described is an outlier and is only used on certain Subaru vehicle models, with certain trim packages and production locations. Because of the inconsistent nature of the accessory, and the availability of third-party tow hitches, we cannot include it as a general rule in the fit guide.
Hitch compatibility measurements for all hitch-mounted bike racks can be found in the "Instructions" section of each product page. This gives the dimensions of compatible hitches so customers are able to determine fits for their particular hitch and vehicle combination.

Front wheel lose, dragged behind car

My brother got this for me since I have a 5 year old, and this rack would allow our different sized bikes to fit on the same rack. I have used this about 3 times without problems. However, yesterday I load my bike on, and the front wheel came off and my bike was dragged behind on the freeway (miraculously, I only seemed to lose a 1/4 of the left handle and bit of the hand break). I looked thru the instructions/manual and it doesn't say you must lock your bike to secure it as you drive. I even asked my brother to shake it once I put it on to make sure it was secure, and it didn't move. I would like Thule to contact me about this. It could have caused an accident.

The best way to receive assistance with a damaged or defective product, is to fill out a Warranty Claim with photos and video best showing the issues you experienced, and a copy of the proof of purchase.
