Really cool controller (if you can get it on sale)

Not the most feature complete controller, but there are a few merits that would make this a “buy” (on sale of course) The lighting effect (although a bit gimmicky) is the best part about the gamepad. It’s unfortunate, however, that you have to download an app to utilize changing the color/theme or for button mapping. Once downloaded there are a bunch of different themes for color animation and you can set it to any color or colors you’d like. The first thing I noticed was how light it was. Not needing batteries reduces the overall weight which is good and not so great, it feels a little cheap in the hand (mostly bc of the weight) but the buttons and triggers do feel good and comparable to other controllers on the market. The buttons on the back of the pad are in a bit of an awkward position that it makes them uncomfortable to use. It’s a fully wired controller, which isn’t a bad thing in and of itself, just don’t expect to use it for tablet or mobile phone play. I personally use it for PC gaming and for that it’s great. There is what looks like a small LCD “screen” on the top, above the Xbox button, that says “Republic of Gamers” it even had the tape that comes on small screens which led me to believe there is some use to it, but I haven’t found a way to make it work or light up, I’m not sure it even does anything at this point which is just a bit misleading, bc it completely reads: “screen” when you first see it. The overall look of the controller is very esthetically pleasing. The front plate is etched with “ROG” on the left side and almost like a low profile circuitry design on the right half. It’s a very nice “look” over all. There are single tier trigger locks, which can be helpful when playing competitive FPS games. It’s a decent moderately customizable controller that I personally enjoy. I wouldn’t recommend buying it for MSRP bc it’s a bit steep, but if you can get it a little cheaper it’s definitely a good gamepad overall.
